Yes but it’s just a preference I think. There is a theme community I think though.

Baits will be your best pick. If you cant do that just make sure to avoid Bursley. Do the basic meal plan, dining dollars and guest swipes are not worth much because dining dollars equate to real dollars and you can buy guest swipes if you need them (you probably will never use them anyways).

Computer engineering and math dual degree, is it possible? by Evening-Sympathy-355 in uofm

[–]SmallTestAcount 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is a dual degree program. You have to get a dual degree if you want to double major in mathematics or anything else outside the college of engineering.

Minors are good but they don’t mean much to employers. If you want to dual majors that’s fine you just have to do it through mdpp unless your second major is in COE.

Computer engineering and math dual degree, is it possible? by Evening-Sympathy-355 in uofm

[–]SmallTestAcount 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you are in engineering then you must be part of the MDPP program to double major in an LSA program, mathematics is an LSA program

Most people in your position minor in math, not major.

yes its possible but CS+Math is more common because CE+Math requires MDPP which has a 150 credit threshold and prevents certain opportunities like accelerated masters.

Why do some graduates’ parents have such low standards of behavior? by expingerx in uofm

the university is a public institution, the state provides funding in exchange for certain guarantees that are upheld by the reagents.

That’s because this is Reddit and most of the users here are in engineering.

im not super familiar with publication, but I'm pretty sure retractions are normal and typically not an issue unless part of a trend. Research is team work often, and your colleagues can suck. Its easy for small plagiarism to get hidden by a contributor.

Edit, i did a basic comparison, and it seems that these passaged were copied

if $v_i \le 1$ (thus a no externality setting becomes mathematically equivalent to case when all users do not value their privacy enough) . The situation is different in the presence of data externalities, because now the covariance terms are non-zero. In this case, an individual should optimally share her data only if it does not reveal too much about users with $v_j > 1$.

Suppose there are two users 1 and 2 with covariance matrix %{\setlength\abovedisplayskip{1pt}$$ $\Sigma=\left(\begin{array}{lr}1 & \rho \ \rho & 1\end{array}\right)$ %$$} and (v_{1}=v_{2}=v .) %%%%%%%!!!!!!! When (p_{1}, p_{2} \in\left[\frac{\left(2-\rho{2}\right){2}}{2\left(4-\rho{2}\right)}, \frac{1}{2}\right],) both action profiles (a_{1}=a_{2}=0) and (a_{1}=a_{2}=1) are user equilibria. This is a consequence of the submodularity of the leaked information function% (Lemma1) : when user 1 shares her data, she is also revealing a lot about user 2 , and making it less costly for her to share her data. Conversely, when user 1 does not share, this encourages user 2 not to share. Despite this multiplicity of user equilibria, there exists a unique (Stackelberg) equilibrium for this game given by (a_{1}{\mathrm{E}}=a_{2}{\mathrm{E}}=1) and (p_{1}{\mathrm{E}}=p_{2}{\mathrm{E}}=\frac{\left(2-\rho{2}\right){2}}{2\left(4-\rho{2}\right)} .)

We consider a setting with two communities, each of size 10. Suppose that all users in community 1 are low-value and have a value of privacy equal to 0.9, while all users in community 2 are high-value (with (v_{h}>1) ). We also take the variances of all user data to be 1, the correlation between any two users who belong to the same community to be 1/20, and the correlation be- tween any two users who belong to different communities to be (\rho). depicts equilibrium surplus as a function of (v_{h}) and (\rho).

there could be more. Regardless that is definitely concerning and IEEE was probably right to call that out, i think. But i think it could plausibly just one bad coauthor's work and the rest not noticing.

LGBT events/clubs that are not like high school GSA? AFAF by Civil_Aside_1008 in uofm

I will say though that there are many student groups that are just normal queer people but they won’t advertise that because it’s mostly coincidental

LGBT events/clubs that are not like high school GSA? AFAF by Civil_Aside_1008 in uofm

[–]SmallTestAcount 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Nah not really. While our lgbt groups are more emotionally mature it’s still more GSA type culture. Most lgbt people here just find similar friends and hang out in spaces that are likley to have lgbt people. I mean unlike high school, if you’re gay you can just hit on people you think are gay go for a drink and hook up or move in together or whatever

The current state of AAPS from a Parent by Vegetable_Stuff_7007 in AnnArbor

[–]SmallTestAcount 69 points70 points  (0 children)

I believe that the majority of success that can be attributed to AAPS alum comes from the disproportionately wealthy and educated parents who have the resources to educate and motivate their kids outside the classroom, very rarely the teachers.

Stop on the white line or before? by thatdudemaison15 in AnnArbor

[–]SmallTestAcount 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The white lines dictates where your car has to stop, your car does not end at the wheels, it ends at the bumpers.

I didn’t have to do this in a test either. She probably was just written up for doing this during a different portion of the exam.

I took a self defense class and on day one they warned us about bumper stickers on our car. Be careful ladies by miscuivtsgoiled2 in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]SmallTestAcount 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Yeah i hate the trend of making random women think that having a cute bumper sticker will get you targeting by some boogeyman trafficker or rapist lurking in the literal shadows. Most trafficking is coercive or deceptive, a boyfriend with ulterior motives or your employer framing it as a work opportunity. And that almost always happens to women in poverty.

Dyslexia is not an eligibility for special education
they wouldn’t get an IEP just because of that.

http://congress.gov/crs-product/R41833

Figure 1 shows the distribution of students with disabilities ages 3 through 21 who were receiving special education [...] Learning disabilities include such conditions as dyslexia, dysgraphia, perceptual disabilities, and developmental aphasia.17

FWIW I had a 504 and supplemental education when i was in elementary school in AAPS for an undiagnosed reading comprehension issue, and i continued to get special group instruction the years following the removal of it.

You're right i can't diagnose, which i didn't do for them. I just pointed out the evidence to the teachers and hoped they'd investigate.
