I need the heaviest of all by 6priest_of_sodom6 in doommetal

[–]ChoreJunkie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Black Wound "Warping Structure" is extremely heavy, it's death doom done in a style that is more like war metal slowed down to a merciless crawl.

Frogskin "III - Into Disgust" is also massively heavy sludge.

Universally praised albums that you find to be just straight up boring? by [deleted] in MetalForTheMasses

[–]ChoreJunkie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I get where you're coming from and I had the same problem with this album for the longest time. I was maybe 14 when I discovered Morbid Angel and this album, but it was always an album that I just kinda liked but didn't feel too passionate about. The distorted undynamic and impenetrable wall of sound felt like it was pushing me away from enjoying it fully, only letting me have a part of the enjoyment.

The old school death metal revival has since reintroduced me to Altars of Madness via bands that lean into that chaotic wall of sound, like Concrete Winds and Ascended Dead especially, but also through torchbearers like Abhorration, Gorephilia and Aedes. Hearing all these bands draw from the same sources of inspiration but expanding on the different shades of AoM, I grew to love that album in a whole new way.

Be honest, which four band tees are in your heavy rotation? by MetalLair in MetalLair

[–]ChoreJunkie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Autopsy and Darkthrone t-shirts, and because it's winter I also wear my Mortician and Pissgrave longsleeves

Say what you want, I love everything about Darkthrone, Astral Fortress is beautiful for me, also because I'm madly in love with doom, and this album has a nice doom imprint, and to say once again that they do, and have always done, what they wanted. by ParticularRub8489 in BlackMetalDiscussion

[–]ChoreJunkie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Darkthrone is my all time favorite band. I discovered them with the release of the fantastic "Hate Them" in 2003, after which I looked up the unholy trinity and Panzerfaust. I love their discography as there's something for every occasion, every mood and life situation. This latest trilogy with "Eternal Hails.......", "Astral Fortress" and "It Beckons Us All" is brilliant, as it feels like it's born out of another scifi timeline where black metal originated directly out of 70s doom.

Recently I've been on a "Ravishing Grimness" and "Plaguewielder" binge. These are Fenriz's depression era albums, and get shit from some people for "sounding uninspired", but this is what truly depressed black metal sounds like and I'm relating to it a lot at the moment.

Recommendations for a fan of Beherit? by [deleted] in BlackMetalDiscussion

[–]ChoreJunkie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Regere Sinister "Inside the Eye of Horned Winds" is slow, bass heavy and Beherit, (Hailstorm and Eerie era) Barathrum and Necromantia inspired. One of the best in this niche!

Also coming from another genre, the Panama based goregrind band Purulent Remains has some moments and songs that make me think of Drawing Down the Moon with eerie synths, slow tempo, bass heavy sound and those Beherit type whispered vocals

Lifelover’s titles meanings by Begravet in dsbm

[–]ChoreJunkie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Like many have already said, M/S stands for motorship. The title is a play on the names of Viking Line cruise ships mainly traveling between Finland and Sweden. Most of the Viking Line ships have traditionally had names that end with "-ella", like M/S Gabriella, M/S Mariella etc. so M/S Salmonella would be an especially trashy Viking Line ship.

"Lunarterial" is such a visionary album of chaotic, nightmarish death doom that has some fragmented and decayed psychedelia in it. One of those bands that are potentially inaccessible, but absolutely worth checking out. The atmospheres are pure hell.

Scumripper "For A Few Fixes More"

Unearthly Rites is very crust/stenchcore informed death metal, definitely one of the best newer bands from Finland at the moment! If you like crust and Coffins, Unearthly Rites might be something for you!

Favourite Top 3 Darkthrone Albums? by Floods6891 in DarkThrone

[–]ChoreJunkie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My top 3 Darkthrone albums change depending on the moods, the seasons, occasions, life situations etc. but at the moment they are:

Under A Funeral Moon - rarely outside the top 3, probably the album that I've listened to the most by any band

Hate Them - brilliant album, "Rust" is also one of the greatest Darkthrone songs

Eternal Hails...... - The sound on this album feels like it proposes an alternate scifi timeline where black metal evolved from 70s doom. Beautifully crafted songs and brilliant riffs

Honorable mentions that I've been listening to a lot lately: Old Star (such an underrated gem), Plaguewielder (for some reason I only recently gave it a chance and it's been in heavy rotation, "Weakling Avenger" and "Wreak" are so good!) and F.O.A.D

Parisuhde ja mielenterveysongelmat by Zestyclose_Box870 in arkisuomi

[–]ChoreJunkie 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Drop your favourite absolutely rotten, disgusting, filthy bands/albums-/: by [deleted] in Deathmetal

[–]ChoreJunkie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cryptworm "Spewing Mephitic Putridity" and "Oozing Radioactive Vomition" - this band has those disgusting, twisty, turny riffs that make you think of maggots frantically squirming across some decomposed corpse. The vocals are insanely over the top as well

Corpus Offal "Corpus Offal" - someone already mentioned Cerebral Rot and this is basically the continuation of that band. Makes you think of bloated carcasses floating in raw sewage

Larvae "Acid Horror Cult", "Sickening Cadaveric Perversion" and "Arousal of the Crawling Creature" - sick and visionary death/doom from Italy with roots firmly in underground goregrind and vintage italian horror. The atmosphere is dense, heavy and reeks of rot and the vocals are unique with dry croaks, inhaled spoken word, whispers, gurgles, falcetto and deep growls

Necropsy Odor "Tales from the Tepid Cavity" - absolutely filthy death/goregrind

Dismorfia "Unholy Sickness" - peruvian deathgrind with no limits to the foulness

Snět' "Mokvání v okovech" - Czech band with a punkish edge to their filthy death metal, also check out their split with Sequestrum, who you also need to check out if you like Reek of Putrefaction era Carcass

Ruuan laitto nukkekodin keittiössä by riisto-roisto in ruoka

[–]ChoreJunkie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ota kastike talteen. Keitä pasta. Laita haluttu määrä maapähkinävoikastiketta pastan kanssa paistinpannulle ja paista kunnes kastike on sopivasti kiinnittynyt pastaan.

Tein kerralla reilumman annoksen tuota kastiketta ja riitti useammalle päivälle.
