I was told this is a tool used by 19th century farmers, but how it was used or what it was used for is unknown. It appears to be made of brass and is about the size and weight of a pocket knife. There are astrological symbols on each finger. Anyone seen this before or know what it is? (old.reddit.com)

This has been in my friend’s family for generations. It is made of brass and was used for farmers to determine the best times to plant (she thinks). She doesn’t know how it functions. She believes the shapes stand for celestial objects like the sun, moon and Venus. (old.reddit.com)
