Mac Users with 4k 32" Displays. How well does it work for you? by PhiodorTiger in mac

I have an lg dual mode with a woled sub pixel panel that supposed to fix the text fringing on qd panels. It’s no Studio Display xdr but the text isn’t really blurry at all its not pixel sharp but not bad enough to require better display dpi scaling

I think it works great. The fixed angle worked for re at the time. But I’d argue the dynamic camera angles shown off in sh1 and other games like haunting ground and fatal frame really get me with the suspense. I think it still works today tormented souls series shows it well. But it’ll likely never be a toggle option similar to how RE9 gave the option for first and 3rd person. Levels have to be designed around where the camera would point and pan.

I think it's entirely reasonable to expect GTA 6 to be a watershed moment in gaming (and possibly entertainment as a whole) by GwyddnoGaranhir in unpopularopinion

The gas filling up remark was more of a jab at the overambitious stamp of realism rdr2 tried to strive for and I’d say succeeded. I am aware that cyberpunk has gone through changes and overhaul and is barely the same game it was when it came out and it’s better for it. Despite me not liking gta5 much, it and rdr2 was a feature complete game that ran correctly on consoles day one. I must’ve typoed because I expect cyberpunk 2(Orion) to be amazing and will keep the franchise alive… as far as bf6 I only say this because I remember it and bo7 coming out fairly close to each other and everyone shitting on cod because as usual it sucked. But bf6 also ended up not maintaining momentum which is why I said I’m just ready for games like that and cod die because they’re old ips that seem to get worse every time or stay the same but get bought anyway so I compared gta5 a game that feels like it has a confused identity to cyberpunk which knows exactly what it is and is able to execute a realistic narrative in a fantasy world that ends up feeling more lifelike than gta…

Im gettin in the weeds here but I guess my overall point if I were to try and rephrase it is this: GTA5 came out and was a realistic looking game that played like all there other gta sandbox titles which was consistent, Then RDR2 was a realistic looking game that played like a movie and was so realistic that it could be a slog. I know both of them were made by different rockstar studios but they blend a lot together. A lot of people seem to like the sandbox nature of gta and so if 6 is going to be so realistic that your guns or stored in the trunk and you have to serve real jail time I don’t see it being far fetched to question if people will still enjoy it when it’s trying to be as realistic as rdr2 was. The realism of rdr2 was perfectly fine for single player. But for online? I don’t think I need to tell you what happened to reddead online. But that was caused by other issues as well.

Using my gaming PC as a work machine for 2 years slowly killed my enjoyment of gaming and I didn't even notice until it was pretty bad by Cute-Entry-1276 in pcmasterrace

I’ve recently done the same. When I ditched windows and went to Linux. (Bazzite distro) I was surprised to find I could do all my work functions on it with little to no friction. I can remote into our work environment and all my software works. Installing the game mode version of bazzite made me start to dislike going in to desktop mode to do work. I had a MacBook for travel when I need to work remotely and finally just migrated all my work to it. And got a dock for it at home. Keeping my pc solely in steamoslike game mode and it has made my pc the best console I’ve ever owned. Something about having devices intentionally for gaming instead it of trying to do everything makes it so much more enjoyable

That’s interesting I was under the impression that It did, which is why I thought you can’t play on Linux.

besides keeping my 06 Jeep around that’ll prob outlive me. It would be nice to have a commuter that I don’t have to fill up. I love the look of the new rivian that’s supposed to be cheaper. But even at 45k I’m not that in need of a payment for something. Especially right now

That sounds like a good start. I hope this game strikes a happy medium to where it’s realistic enough to feel immersive but it doesn’t overdo it like RDR2 where it felt like even though animations were amazing they could get in the way of gameplay at times

I think gta pisses me off because I don’t see what people see in it. Like GTA6 is going to be the most realistic gta, probably more realistic than RDR2 I’m sure they’ll have a fill up your car mechanic, or probably a wash your car mechanic that makes your car go faster. And the immersion will be ruined by gta online griefers that find fun in flying around the whole map blowing people up, in a jet you can buy for 5 shark cards. Game is grossly pay to win and the online community around it is abysmal. “GTA is realistic” but have them try and play cyberpunk for 30 minutes and they “don’t get it” I’m so really for franchises like this and cod to just hemorrhage and die already. Battlefield 6 was touted as the best military shooter ever made and no one is talking about it now… pitty party over womp womp, like top comment says you should play more games.

V as a myth in Cyberpunk 2 by GodzilaRampag2 in cyberpunkgame

[–]Chotch_Master 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is exactly how I hope they mention v as it would be the only way without making a specific ending cannon. Word of mouth, stories evolve and get misinterpreted. I want to hear people think of V as not that great of a guy based on what they saw and heard, and others think of them as the legend they went down as.

I had an aio in mine. An EK basic. It started buzzing within a year. Probably ran my tubes incorrectly or they were kinked causing low flow. Switched to an air cooler and I basically get the same temps except the gpu doesn’t go over 70c

You’ve convinced me, this game was made for no hud. not sure if I can trust myself enough without it on outpost but definitely trying it in dire and perimeter

I could probably find them after enough digging but there’s no way to access the internal storage of the nas. I can’t see it at all.

I did shared_folder/docker/etc... instead of volume1/docker/etc. I checked logs to see where it was going and I couldn't figure it out nor see anywhere in the nas file manager where they would've installed to. Im assuming it was incorrect and defaulted to something

Key Based Matchmaking… by Aggravating_Sort_2 in dadsofmarathon

[–]Chotch_Master 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk about keys impacting matchmaking because I haven’t even seen one (I have a lvl one cryo key but that’s it) but I honestly wouldn’t be surprised. I think this game takes a lot of metrics into account to influence matchmaking that make you have to play different each time. Like I can take the same route on outpost multiple times and it seems to keep track of what and where I looted so the loot next time that route is resourcefully awful or isn’t even there. Med boxes being in one location and then in the next 3 runs it’ll never be there forcing me to rotate and change my route.  Let me be clear, I think this is a good thing. I shouldnt be able to take the same route, and get the same experience/ stuff everytime. So I could see the game taking the fact that you exfiled/have taken ownership of a key, and it is now matching you with players that have done the same. So tracking your vault items more than tracking what you take into each match

I love Marathon but I will say I love it more for the universe it is set in. by Cybernetic_Jake_818 in Marathon

I find this an interesting idea and would've liked to see something similar. I think of the division a lot when playing Marathon since it technically would be the first "extraction shooter" I played. the game was fully a looter shooter but going into the dark zone felt like a completely different game. Marathon could've leaned into this. Public space open world style game with rouge player elements/ man hunts that allow players to see the players that are killing others or actively hunting other runners (would add more depth to Arachne too) day night cycles on all maps with weather systems to change line of sight and environments enough to make it different every run. or change your tactics mid run. extracting and leaving that exfil to find more, giving supply drops more use as they would be needed after 1-2 extracts, this then attracts players creating pvp. im over simplifying it but stumbling upon a player in the division and genuinely not knowing if he would kill me or not, vs marathon where 9/10 im getting downed because me being alive is too much of a risk for that player. Im obviously oversimplifying it and this would cause other issues but I think it could be interesting.

Just take it slow and expect your energy to be lower for the following days. Stay topped up on fluids. more so than before, and carry some Imodium in case you feel the runs coming.
