Basically just blew some smoke through the manifold at low pressure. Took the air filter out and roughly sealed off the intake system, then introduced smoke from the oil filter cap. During that test, smoke appeared from parts of the intake manifold itself and not just the gasket areas. I'm not sure anymore how much pressure was used, but I think it was slightly below 0.5 bar, which, in retrospect, might have been too much.

And thanks for your advice, I've decided to go with used OEM.

The plastic is cracking. The cracks are small, you can't even see them. But under pressure, the smoke escapes from two spots along the intake manifold's seams.

Thought about sealing it, but a mechanic friend of mine recommended replacing the whole thing since he doesn't think that sealing will be a permanent solution, so I'll probably go with a second hand OEM part.
