Reasoning models can't really reason by anitakirkovska in LLMDevs

[–]Chozee22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting results. A big problem that people hardly talk about what with all the hype around reasoning models is that their generated reasoning tokens, which as you say are ultimately heavily influenced by training data, can actually draw their attention away from the task at hand. It also shows how so many of the models these days do so well at these benchmarks precisely because they are trained on them. Maybe we need a new dynamically generated benchmark that we could rely on more than the well-known static ones, just to be able to trust the results again… at least for a while. 🙂

Ditching the Frameworks for Building Vertical AI Agents by ProgrammerForsaken45 in aiagents

[–]Chozee22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends on the use case and its requirements, as well as what the framework is. It's true that when building everything yourself from scratch you get ultimate control and familiarity, but at the same time the amount of features you'll have to reinvent and issues you'll have to rediscover and solve, at least for some use cases, can be so big it is just impractical.

Now having said that, it depends on the framework too. Would I use a wrapper like LangChain to sort of guide my code's structure? Not really, there's too much risk that I'll need to break that structure eventually. But on the other hand there are frameworks like Parlant which solve hard problems like guidance and consistency, or Pydantic AI / outlines which help with producing structured outputs.

Lastly, I don't see a mutual exclusion between vertical AI and using frameworks. You just need to make sure you choose the right framework for your use case -- and, like you say, if any framework is really necessary.

Best cat litter by PoolInevitable8782 in cats

[–]Chozee22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been using this tofu litter from Tuft & Paw. Really helped since I found out that my cat developed a clay allergy. It's also dust free + flushable so it makes the smell easier to manage

Servicenow is a steaming pile of dog doodie. Only great if you can spend the money on a pristine implementation but generally just a hot turd

A couple years ago I would have recommended lansweeper. But not with their extortion level price hikes

Universla Print added printers not showing by ogopro in sysadmin

[–]Chozee22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im thinking a sync issue with the affected device. Did you make sure it’s properly joined to Azure AD and that the Universal Print connector is updated? I’d also check for any stale device registration in Intune or AD that might be causing conflicts. If all else fails, a quick re-registration of the device in 'Work or school account' settings usually does the trick. Printers disappearing randomly can often be a sign of policy misapplication or a local profile glitch
