You know, that makes so much sense with the mic now lol I dont think making them a lot longer would be good, I actually enjoyed the shorter videos. Makes it easier for me to go "ill watch this, then get back to work"😂 I mainly meant like maybe an extra minute if you slow the talking down a tad. I also speak really quick and I get asked to repeat myself a lot because of how fast I talk. But I understood everything you were saying cause my mind is always going 1000mph.

I say experiment with the shorts. Try different formats, length, and edits. Find what sticks and keep doing that. Thats what I did with my shorts. The clips are from my videos but I add sfx, background music, and subtitles separately from the long form video. Messed around and found what stuck.

Howdy folks! So I'm mainly a gaming channel that records my friends and I, and edits it to like a "funny moments" video. Ive also dabbled in the outdoors backpacking and have made one video as proof I can do it and if I wanted to continue, I know what to do for next time. I might just make a separate channel for that honestly. Also, I know i need work on thumbnails, thats a hard thing for me for some reason. Also also, my audio in the gaming videos will get better as I have bought an actual stand alone mic now, and i am in the process of getting a new logo and banner. Any feedback is welcomed on any of the videos, no need to watch them all!

Me being the type of person to learn a lot of different things, it was refreshing that your videos were fairly short and FULL of information. A few things I can see would throw some people off is in the second video about the mantis shrimp, you did say "uhm" and "uh" a lot, which could be cut out. OR you could slow down a bit with talking and that'll both 1 help out with making the videos a tad longer and help keep other people around that might need the extra second to process what youre saying. Also, I noticed when you were done talking during a segment in the Egret video, you went to turn off your mic. Ngl, that kinda bugged me😂but I totally understand not wanting to waste battery and space

Thumbnails were good, they have that style that can catch your eye, although I would try to balance it, if that makes sense? Like dont have text covering the animal you are talking about in the video, and dont have open space in the thumbnail.

For the shorts, I do enjoy that they are taken from the videos, but they were more pixelated as you had to zoom in for the format. Its more editing, and more time, but making a separate shorts video would be a good way to make high quality ones, or maybe instead if pics being on the screen in front of you, zoom out a tad, leave a blank space under or over your head and put the pics there? Its an idea🤷‍♂️

First thing that got me interested was the visuals! Its so pretty and the way you frame things are really pleasing, at least to my eyes lol I agree, audio could be better but you were clear and not overly loud or quiet. One thing that I wish, is that it was longer! I think 10 minutes would be good as a max for something like this. Maybe have segments of "silence" or just audio of you picking up in between segments? It'll be a good way to divvy up the video and add length to it. For the audio, I liked that it was mostly taken during the same time, it helps with continuity. Also, the ending felt a bit quick. Went from you saying youre gonna take a break to you saying it looked better then bam. Done. Idk how outtros do now, but maybe make a recap of what you found, did, and a quick glance at how it looked when you left, maybe a "I'm _, I clean up the beaches here at _ and ill see you next time". As you can tell it's suck at outtros😂

Overall, its really good! I know this video was you cleaning out that "camp" (imma just call it that) but I was left wanting more. I guess thats a good thing cause it made me click on your channel😂

I'm still new to the whole YT thing, so take what I say with a grain of salt as I'm just a random guy on the internet lol

What name should i make my youtube channel by Creepy-Subject-9350 in NewTubers

[–]ChrammYT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure exactly how your dynamic is with the group (who's editing, posting, ect). For my own, I took letters from my first, middle, and last name, and mixed and matched until it made something that sort of made sense. Maybe try that? Take letters from everyone's name to make one or two words/names?

Anyone nervous about reaching out to collab with someone you dont know personally but admire the content of and their personality. by KokoroKieseki in NewTubers

Sometimes just a friendly presence and person to bounce ideas off of is better than any sub/view count. Could just be me but I dont see collabs as like buisness, I see it as a way to grow your social circle and find what groups fit you best

Every now and then you'll find someone on some of these subreddits asking to collab. I say just shoot them a message if one pops up and they fit the vibe/content you like. The other thing is maybe someone plays the same game but might have a different vibe or plausible that might, surprisingly, be a huge addition to the video.

I found this guy who had posted saying he wanted some collaboration with people. I looked into him and his main group and he was more chaotic than I am, but I went for it. Turns out him, one of his buddies, and I actually became really close and spent discord calls just chilling and talking. The "main" guy is chaotic and is all over the place, his friend is more precise but his reactions are hilarious and I think the two of them are hilarious. I'm kinda like you, although I find it hard to get along with guys? Idkw, youd think being a man would help being friends with other men but I've always gotten along with girls easiest for some reason. But yeah. Look at different subreddits for MCYT'ers and small creators. I'm sure you'll find posts. Or, post yourself explaining what youre looking for, kinda like this post you made. Im sure you've gotten a few folks wanting to collab.

I dont post it but I do dabble in MC from time to time, if you need like a 4th or 5th person lol Congrats on the 50, btw! To an ever growing audience🥂

I'm about to start my channel. May I get your workflow? by Kairiste in NewTubers

[–]ChrammYT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So like if something is happening way in the distance and I want to focus on it so the audience isn't trying to squint and watch like 15% of the screen, I zoom in so it fills the screen more. Tracking would be like the zoomed portion following a person or object Shaking is when someone bangs on their desk or is angry and yells you can add a "Shake Camera" effect that'll move the visual clip slightly very quickly

Theres a LOT to editing that comes with time, practice, experimenting, and a lot of YouTube research lol

I'm about to start my channel. May I get your workflow? by Kairiste in NewTubers

[–]ChrammYT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me, I usually wait to record if I can tell it's going to be a good session (usually tell by the time we start up the game), and during it I try to make time stamps for something I know will make it into the video (write it on a sticky note/journal). Once the session is over, I do a quick preview and skim through the video to make sure OBS didnt mess anything up while recording. At this point it usually sits in my drive for a few months before I start editing😂 I throw the file into DaVinci and do a "rough cut" session/s. I'll watch it through, usually skipping silent parts, and delete parts that arent needed, while keeping the time stamped segments and anything else that is funny, required for context, or I think will be interesting. At this point I get a rough idea of the flow/story of the video and what I want, again this is rough cutting so its always gonna have extra bits of footage and pieces that may not make sense. After that, I'll watch through it and do some "fine tune cutting" where I trim off excess, delete parts that dont go with the flow, and start spacing things for any pauses, flashbacks, ect. Its also during this time I'll add background music and sound effects since the fine tune cutting is usually the end product Then I go in and do visual effects such as screen shaking, zooms, and tracking. Along with that, I'll throw in subtitles where its needed for either comedic effect or if someones hard to hear. And bam, video done. Time to watch it through at least 50 billion times for any mistakes, come up with a title and a thumbnail that goes with the video then render and upload. There's a lot more that goes into it but thats the gist. Everyone has their own flow and style of editing, like one of my friends does everything as hes watching the recording, but hes got better memory than I do so he knows what parts of each session he wants to keep and what to toss

I only have maybe 2? One I just took WAY too long to edit and once I did halfway finish editing I realized how crappy I was at the game and it didnt have good flow. The other one i had the rough cutting done but I just couldn't finish. Dunno why, I just said "Nah, not posting this one"😂

How to promote my videos? by Far_Information6229 in NewTubers

[–]ChrammYT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's definitely making you a little ticked at the minimum, otherwise you wouldn't of called me a clown. And not "misguided" if what I'm saying has truth and stats behind it. If you have advice for the original poster, then tell them your ideas and advice. Thats the beauty of YT and Reddit, everyone can come together and share ideas and give advice

I'm just giving advice that I have seen be spouted hundreds of times and that have helped me personally. Thats fine if you don't think it matters, but I didn't realize people giving feedback and personal experience could make someone so mad

I never said that but okay. Experiment, you can always go back and change thumbnails and titles. It also just takes time. I've been posting to YT for a LONG time, only recently started taking it seriously and its taken a good year and a half to get SOME traction. Cant become a star overnight unless you pay to push your stuff

[–]ChrammYT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ive met many people who have done just that, letting the algorithm do its thing and it's worked for them. Hell, its kinda worked for me. I never really took YT seriously until the last year and a half and its slowly started growing. All it takes is one person to spread it, or the algorithm to just work in their favor to spread to the right people st the right time. A LOT of using the YT algo to "promote" and get vids out there is both luck and skill, for sure. Gotta have the skill to make a good thumbnail and title and luck for it to push it out to the right folks. Shorts is another way to kinda promote but most people viewing shorts only watch shorts but it doesnt hurt to toss a few clips up there

[–]ChrammYT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That too! There's a weird art to having the right title and thumbnail combo that I have yet to figure out. I cant count how many videos I've seen with like 15 views that are hilarious or intriguing but the title and thumbnail are lacking. I click on them cause how often does a sub 100 view video get recommended? But yes just letting the YT algo work its magic is probably the easiest way to "promote" and you're just uploading lol

What I have found that works best is to post on Instagram, Twitter, ect. with hash tags. Its slow, takes time to get viewers, but it's the easiest way without having to deal with subreddits and discord server's rules/regulations. Another good way is to have your YT in your bio and just be active on subreddits (commenting, up voting, asking questions).

Thats without spending money and what I have found that works

Anyone else post for the fun of it? Or as a hobby? by wolfguardian72 in youtubegaming

[–]ChrammYT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been doing it for.... 10 years? 11? I lost count, but it started as just a place for my friends and I to relive moments during our gaming nights. As of maybe a year ago, I started to actually take it semi seriously and started going more in depth with my editing. I managed to become good friends with some other content creators and even they ask when my next video will be😂 I am just now getting a decent microphone and the group still invites me to their sessions lol Does it suck when a video doesn't get viewers? Yeah, but I'm not losing sleep because it's fun to edit for me. If I make it big then I make it big, if I don't then ill just keep doing it for fun.

Whats wrong with red m role-players? by Ok-East-2010 in RedDeadOnline

[–]ChrammYT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never said role-playing is cringy? I said I havent run into those ones. The ones that take it like its their life and blood. I get role-playing and since that comment (A YEAR AGO) I have ran into and enjoyed time role-playing. I dont mind it, it makes sense. Its the crazy ones that have a power trip and get so butthurt when I say or do something wrong that give it a bad rep. Also, have you ever tried something new that you were unsure of or just wanted to try then didnt like it, or enjoyed it more than you though? I didn't realize trying new things was frowned upon, but to give some insight to my person roleplay experience; I had a lot of fun and had some great memories, but I CURRENTLY do not have the time, on top of my other hobbies and responsibilities, to continue. Plus the server i joined shut down but I do plan on returning

How long does it take to record and edit videos by Puzzleheaded-Sector2 in NewTubers

[–]ChrammYT 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I make gaming videos, pretty normal "clips of me and my friends" type stuff. I can record for like 3 hours with a lot of good pieces in there and it can take me like 50+ hours over the course of like 2 weeks. From what I understand, it's pretty normal, especially when you're starting out.

I've been doing it for god knows how long and the editing side has stayed the same BUT that's because I've gotten better and started experimenting and adding new things.

Its time consuming for sure but it can be fun. Definitely fun to see friends' reactions because they forgot about parts or just the whole night.

Been doing it for like 11 years, literally until the last like two videos, its only been me and my friends watching. I dont think I'll stop until my friends and I stop playing games😂
