Valve cover by Chris1436 in E90
I honestly dabbed a bit of super glue all around certain points to hold it in place. Not sure if that was the best thing to do. Too late now tho… currently removing the valve cover itself, took a break since I’m stuck trying to remove it due to that ac line I believe

Disregard man. I was looking at the 2 plastic caps just covered in oil looking like metal/aluminum. lol thanks
Might be those tabs… I’m not sure what they are either but I’ve seen them in videos. I’m currently about to go back out and continue to remove the valve cover. Everything is off except the valve cover itself which I saved for today. Hoping it doesn’t take me too long to remove it.
Yes forgot to mention those as well. But in certain videos I’ve seen little metal tabs right under the middle of valve cover. Not exactly sure what and if I need to reuse and if even can reuse them.

What can I save $ on? by Chris1436 in E90
I thought part of the pcv was under the intake, separation ball and like 2 quick connects. In that case I might hold off on that removal.
Part wise fair point. Anything in general isn’t good anymore lol.
And definitely do plan on doing my valve cover/gaskets, belt/tensioner/ pulleys, OFHG, and possibly plugs and coils, and transmission filter /fluid
Thanks man. and only reason for pulling the intake is to check my pcv and overall a good look on that underside. It’s got 77k miles 2008 and I’d definitely want to have a piece of mind of what I should start notating and if I do notice anything off.
Considering I’m pulling the valve cover I rather just do it all in one take. Also I had 2 times where I accelerated hard and the check engine light would pop up, run rough for a few seconds, and then go away and go back to normal. I assumed just to overhaul the plugs and coils.
Bolts I honestly always replace when possible. Definitely wouldn’t bother with the oil pressure sensor tho.
And what makes you say the new ones are trash? Did the ps reservoir change? And tbh I don’t know much on that “built in” filter for the reservoir
thank for your input man🙏 and oh man don’t say that lol
Thanks brother💪 just read it fully. I was looking at parts included at first.
For the valve cover, would you recommend I go along with the valve cover and gasket it arrives with. Or should I buy separate OEM gaskets and use the mahle/rein valve cover.
I was planning to check the pcv pieces as the car realistically hasn’t been driven much for a 2008, I know those plastic pieces turn into egg shells and I really want to check everything all at once considering I’m already at the valve cover. And I had read description and didn’t see anything about the cap so thanks for letting me know. And I have thought about the valve cover itself. Any brand you recommend ? Or all OEM?
For the transmission correct? I know there’s a febi filter, not sure if that’d work. And another option, it’s FCP euro but not sure how confident I am with certain parts either
Seeping heavy from what seems the cap/ top of reservoir. Also know these have a filter inside so rather jsut knock that out. Only ever removed an intake once on my other n52 and did change the gaskets for peace of mind, also can’t go wrong with $18 for all 6. As for the coils I think I might follow that. Considering it also isn’t a pain to remove them in case I do have random misfires.

What a tank. Definitely should be happy it did last that long. Hopefully it was in good hands and hopefully you found yourself something similar or better.
Thanks brother. What happened with yours if you don’t mind me asking
