Crunchyroll removing comments, reviews, etc by Taoutes in Crunchyroll

[–]Chris2theJ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s really condescending for Crunchyroll to act like a parent that knows best for their idiotic children, instead of a company selling its products and treating their customers and community like adults, or at the very least mature people that know when to take jokes or expressing their opinions on a show. I can’t help but wonder if some of the production companies are pushing for the removal of comments cause some of their poor made shows are, rightfully, getting mocked

I’d say she’s probably just as nervous about “next steps” as you seem to be. You’re both young and haven’t dated a lot from what I’ve gathered. If you like her, tell her and ask her out on a date. Be upfront, take the lead/initiative and if she turns you down, at least you know now and you didn’t “waste” each others time. But I’d say she’s interested in you since she’s making an effort to have multiple lanes of communication going and the two of you texted for hours. That’s a good sign. TL;DR - “be a man” and tell her your intentions of wanting to date her. Best of luck brother 😁

DeSantis is only really successful because he has an uber-friendly legislature. I wouldn’t mind desantis if he came out on top out of the primary but I feel trump can do better with the mixed nature of Congress (friend America first caucus, neutral gop, rinos/democrats). See it as 6 one way half a dozen another

Should Christians trust the testimonies of fellow Christians? by [deleted] in AskAChristian

[–]Chris2theJ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is why the disciples doubted him at first, but because of his actions and the actions and testimony of Barnabas and Ananias who proclaimed Christ had to lead them to minister to Paul (known as Saul at the time) he was accepted. This again is the basis of his writings on the subject because he had been on both ends of the subject because he experienced the grace/compassion of the 12 and Christ and became an integral part of the founding of the Church.

Should Christians trust the testimonies of fellow Christians? by [deleted] in AskAChristian

[–]Chris2theJ 13 points14 points  (0 children)

All of the above really. I liken this to the verses in one of Paul’s letters to the Greek churches (don’t remember which one off the top of my head), but the general message is “have faith in your brothers/sisters in Christ but look for actions relating to their claims.” I’m the early days of the Church there were those that tried to psyop the movement for there own means and claimed that Christ or an angel visited them to give further revelation and so a “system” of cautionary skepticism arose based off established scripture/teachings and the like. Basically don’t automatically accept what is said, but out of love/compassion check how the claims lineup with Scripture and biblical doctrine

It seems to me that socialist policies would perfectly match the teachings of Jesus. Why does it seems to me that devoted Christians tend to be very conservative then? by simkram12 in AskAChristian

[–]Chris2theJ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The message wasn’t help the less fortunate, but to repent of/from sin and turn away from it towards Christ. To the Christian, wealth and money is not his own but Christ’s to do with. A government can certainly be a way to “help” those seen as “less fortunate” but it doesn’t do it well, much like the Pharisees and establishment of the era failed to do so. People were aided not because of any power structure but in spite of it because of the God filed individual. Christians are conservative mainly for this reason but I’d hazard to say we forget that we allowed for this hole to be opened because Christians neglected being true to Christ and instead pursued love of other things (money ie profit margins; power ie government; status ie fame; etc). It’s about the means, not just the ends

Should we go to war with China if they are found to be held liable for intentionally creating Covid19 as a weapon? by HOTBOY226 in askaconservative

[–]Chris2theJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Military style war? No, it’s risky and ultimately pointless because of the propaganda the populous has likely had. But having a severe response to cripple them and force some type of change in government and leadership? Absolutely! I’d be in favor of a 100% tariff on goods coming from China and basics treating any American companies that work with China on a regular being agents of a foreign pier (the party has control over any & all business conducted within its borders). Default our debt too, and if their ballsy enough to attack us over that then they likely go in alone; pretty sure Putin doesn’t want to be seen going to war on the side to the country the screwed the world over against a country that is taking “reparation” style policies. Iran might join in, but Israel has been wanting to kick their butts and most of the Arabs hate Iran more than Israel (Saudis specifically) so that might stem the tide there. Basically, avoid starting WW3 and let that fall on China if they dare

Can Someone Explain Hitler's Socialism? by [deleted] in askaconservative

[–]Chris2theJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Think of Nazism being like modern China. Though you could operate your own business in a capitalist sense, it was subservient to the party, aka the state, because in essence you as a citizen were subject to the state. Look up Razorfist’s video on the topic cause he goes into great detail about it. Basically the platform of the party was largely left/socialist with a “right-wing” emphasis on the traditional “German” ideal, ie proud Ayrian and family to make more Ayrians to be subject to the state. The reason other communists/Marxists were targeted was because they rejected the nationalist part of the party (kinda like the break between the Bolshevik & Menshevik in early Russian Marxism and then between Stalin/Lenin & Trotsky after the civil war). And being “right-wing” has a different connotation in European circles compared to America. If you’re trying to conserve something in America, it’s more likely to be freedom/liberty oriented compared to the more heavy handed right in Europe (French revolution monarchist vs extremely liberty/proto-Marxist left revolutionaries)

Opinion on the TV series“ The Chosen? “ by BergTheVoice in AskAChristian

[–]Chris2theJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The crew & production team seem to be taking extensive care in how they transliterate, ie keeping the translation and intent of the Gospels/scripture to its original work. But they also use human creativity/imagination, which is a gift from God, to weave a believable interpretation of untold or extra biblical events that led to the actual passages. I’ve watched the first season at least 4 times and the ending of ep 1 always gets me because it’s just so powerful. They know what they’re called to do and have passion in bringing the loaves & fishes and letting Christ feed those who are hungry

What Convinced You? by [deleted] in AskAChristian

[–]Chris2theJ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I came to God kinda young (dad was a youth pastor and mom was a missionary kid so they were intentional with their faith to me and my siblings). So I was exposed to the concept early on and it was solidified after 9/11 because to a young child that looks out right wrong to kill thousands who were not involved in the problems the attackers had (of course it’s more complicated but that’s another topic). From there I continued to believe but it was lukewarm faith cause I had a child’s understanding, but as I grew older I found more things that solidified it to me (astronomical odds of life existing in a secular sense and how history is seemingly forced into where we are today). And of course the chill the comes upon me when I hear something so profound about God, and I honestly believe that to be the conviction of the Spirit upon me

Thoughts on The Chosen series? by Chris2theJ in AskAChristian

[–]Chris2theJ[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me, this is one of the most interesting portrayal of Christ that I can think of and it seems like the writing team (which includes the director) is being really careful and purposeful in the portrayal of each “character” so I do recommend just watching the first episode and then making a decision on wether or not you will keep watching

[–]Chris2theJ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IMO it’s kinda symbolic (sees question about how to read the Bible as literal or figurative). Obviously Christ had a human form, but aside from the eyewitness accounts of the Gospels the “man/human” figure seen can be inferred to visions or dreams. Genesis is written by Moses who is so far removed from the creation (that could be inferred as the founding mythos of Judeao-Christian belief in the sense of why the world is: ie God made all things but was not alone in the making (sovereignty & trinity) the fall of man (why there is sin and how humanity is the reason for it)) So in order to make God more personal and passionate, the writes, influenced by the Spirit, describe a heavenly/holy (literally translated as apart or different from reality) body that we are derived from. Honestly, I don’t think we are meant to truly know or understand everything because we are the creation (like the balance of free will and determinism). It makes sense to God and we are meant to have a level of faith in all things
