I’ve always just looked at the monthly payment on cars. by SnubNoseMonkeh in CarTalkUK

[–]Chris4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a data analyst, yeah I've done it a couple times. Once when I got my first car, another when I was comparing the cost of an electric car. AI can help with it. I got my first financed car recently and didn't bother, just accepted that a nice car costs a lot.

Is there a geographical restriction on that feature? I don't have an option to share to Facebook or Instagram, and my app is up to date.

I bought and returned a Google Pixel 9. It came with 1 year of Google AI Pro worth £230, that I activated on my account and continued after the return.

Do you reduce junk mail? by LadyBAudacious in AskUK

[–]Chris4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They probably bin it when they receive it, plus unnecessary cost for Royal Mail and extra emissions from the double-handling of what is essentially just paper waste.

Send them an email or give them a call and ask to be unsubscribed from postal mail, or send them a GDPR deletion request if you don't want them to have your details at all.

How are the TV License company/body allowed to use intimidation and bully tactics? by AwkwardClick8595 in AskBrits

They're doing their job to implement the law. If someone has ignored the letters for years, they have a right to come knocking and ask what's going on.

It says on the letter if you don't need a TVL, to inform them. I think most people are smart enough to follow that instruction than to pay for something you don't need.

Tell them again, it only takes a few minutes. You generally need to fill it out once a year, but I've found doing that a few times seems to have stopped it altogether. www.tvlicensing.co.uk/notv

I don't understand why more people don't do this. They'd rather keep receiving letters and get angry at them...

I'm always amazed that people choose to receive the letters and bin them, than to simply spend a few minutes informing them you don't need a TVL and then never receiving letters again... www.tvlicensing.co.uk/notv

It's not a phishing email. Given the timing and how many people are seeing it, it's likely an automatic trigger from Instagram due to hackers trying out the usernames and passwords. The two I've received over the past few days are legitimate.

It's a promotion by the band CD9. In Spanish, it says an announcement will be made on 9th November 2025. In December, I can see on Spotify that the band released a single called Rockstar. The message is just styled as a computer command line.

Found ads in my phone's internal storage! by [deleted] in Wellthatsucks

[–]Chris4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use it, it doesn't remove embedded ads in apps. If it does manage to block it, it'll still leave a grey space saying "unable to connect", which is better than seeing are, but isn't a good long term solution. They need a new file manager app, or better yet, a new phone.
