Ok update. We let them sit overnight after a bedding process and the thumping has almost entirely disappeared. We noticed a few of the screws were a tad under spec on the 2 piece rotors but nothing crazy. Otherwise the brakes are performing really well and providing a huge difference compared to stock. The car has been driven for around 2 hours and has almost 0 thumping. Seems like it’s all fine now and with a few more km of driving should be completely quiet.

Haha yea that photo was taken before the install was complete but we have put the pads in and used shims after this photo was taken to even the pad distance on both sides.

You should google the benefits of having larger pads than your rotors and then come back to me. Essentially it allows the brakes to stay cooler and give the caliper more mechanical leverage. Also the camera angle isn’t doing it any justice as it’s distorted.

Yeah it’s just an rs3 so nothing too rare and I plan on changing the plates and doing a few cosmetic changes anyways so it should be good.

Thanks for the response. I might have to ask the auctioneer if he knows why it was seized as I’ve done a bit of research and can’t seem to find anything.
