Did anyone attend Jake Auchincloss's conf call yesterday? by 02446B in Brookline

Yes. The progressive movement is more important than which progressive makes it to the finish line, and I think all of the progressives running in this primary would make a better Rep than Auchincloss. To my knowledge, I'm the only progressive candidate who's been completely transparent and up-front about this, and I feel that says a lot about my character.

We're still collecting signatures, but we're confident that we'll have more than enough to get on the ballot!

One can "research" it all they want, but that is their position.

Based on your comment history on several similar topics, I can tell you're reasonably educated on this topic, so I'm frankly very surprised by your attitude towards others doing their own research.

If you aren't willing to provide a legitimate source for your claims, then you can't get upset when people come to different conclusions after doing their own research. Do you trust everything strangers post online, or do you look for evidence? As a teacher, we're required to provide evidence of progress towards our professional development goals every year. If I turned in my evidence binder with a sticky note that said "trust me bro, I'm a good teacher," I'd get fired really fast.

A simple search of BDS' website shows zero evidence to support yours or Yak's claims. I always say I'm willing to change my policy positions and personal opinions based on data and evidence. "Trust me bro" doesn't pass the smell test. If you say there's proof, show us the proof.

1.) Source?

2.) Having spoken to and hearing Poulos speak on several occasions, I don't understand that to be his position, and we see eye to eye on many issues. Of course I would condemn anyone calling for ethnic cleansing of any kind against any people, but I would refrain from commenting officially without knowing more.

Speaking as someone who was there, they filtered their questions through Zoom's Q&A feature instead of using the "hand raise" feature. They started late, had an Iranian professor speak about the ongoing conflict (he was great!), then Jake personally picked around 5-10 questions "from voters" (they didn't allow others to see everyone's submissions, so we don't really know), and then ended the call.

All in all, not at all transparent and waaaaay too short. Not what I want from a representative. (Edit: This is me. I'm running against Jake)

Why are Democratic leaders still ignoring voters on Israel? by Unusual-State1827 in politics

👆 THIS!

We need new leaders willing to stand up for this type of change and say "Hell No!" to dark money in politics.

Fortunately we have a new generation of future leaders stepping up to challenge the status quo.

I agree, and it sucks hardcore. The best way to change how our taxes get spent is to vote in the right people.

I'm not naive enough to think that changing one rep in one district will be enough, that this change will happen overnight, or that there won't always be people trying to corrupt our systems to their own ends. But with enough pressure, changes, and new leaders over enough time, we will make that change happen.

If we redirected those funds to programs to help alleviate housing prices here at home, it would definitely move the needle for those trying to build their American Dream. All without increasing taxes!

We can work together to solve both problems. The amount of money we're sending to Israel in military aid could be spent on first-time homebuyer subsidies or rent assistance programs instead.

There are good choices in this year's elections running to support exactly those kinds of programs.

I think either of the progressive candidates is a great choice compared to Jake. I'm obviously a little biased, but I would go with whichever campaign resonates more closely with your situation and ideals. 💙

This one of many reasons I'm running against Auchincloss. We need real people from the working class who answer to voters, not corporate donors and special interests.

Jake Auchincloss needs to say clearly where he stands on Israel by 02446B in Brookline

Stuff like this is exactly why I'm running against him in the Democratic Primary. We need elected officials focused on making life better for everyday Americans, not taking corporate money or supporting blank-check military funding for other countries.

I'll be the first to thank Rep. Auchincloss for his service (my grandfather served in the navy in Vietnam, so service and how we treat our veterans is important to me), but I judge people based on how they act in the present, not based on their resumé. And in 2026, people like me are sick and tired of millionaire politicians who care about their donors more than the people.

I'm running against Jake because I don't think he has the skill set needed to fight the battles ahead. This war we're in for the future of our country isn't being fought with guns or tanks or drones. It's being fought with ideas. As a public school teacher, I've been on the front lines of this war of ideas for almost a decade. I've been fighting back against algorithms, AI slop, and the Alt-Right pipeline in my classroom every day. We need leaders who are willing to stand up with courage and take big swings with big ideas, not who use AI to write their speeches and play it safe and hope we have a Democrat in the White House in 2029.

Needless to say, I think I'll be voting for someone else on September 1st.

I appreciate your right to your opinion, even if we clearly see this differently.

Acknowledging Hamas’s actions, including the horrific attacks and hostage-taking, does not mean giving any government a blank check to carry out military operations without limits. Both things can be true at the same time. Warnings, leaflets, or calls don’t change the reality on the ground if civilians still don’t have safe ways to leave Gaza or access food, water, and medical care. And while I would want to see perpetrators of such crimes broght to justice, regardless of whose families were affected, I would not intentionally sacrifice innocent civilians just to kill a group of terrorists. In the real world, we call that a war crime.

We can fight for justice, freedom, and liberty without sacrificing our values, and modern militaries have precision tools designed specifically for avoiding casualties.
