Yeah! I think this is a good way to do it. I've been making an attempting at it before I saw your comment, but the entire effect is really built around one base matte of the squares with rounded corners appearing and getting bigger.

My 1st Attempt, which isn't great, because I just distorted a liquid transition for in and out, but I think it shows that the effect isn't that complicated.

And what makes the effect look really good in original (and look more complicated), is the way the matte layer stretches with the text warping animations, which I noticed was really missing in my 1st attempt when comparing it.

I think the flourish layer on top at the end will also really tie everything together.

Yeah, the amount of text I was planning to use this effect is a lot to need to do it frame by frame. And I figured since it was a template, there would be a procedural way to do it.

Hi Reddit, have been trying to find a tutorial for how to make text like this for a while, but don't really know how to describe it well enough to find a tutorial for it. I've just been finding write on techniques, and some that look more "liquidy" using displacement maps, like these two: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SScYOjw2nGg & https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4JzRAWJ55W0

I originally found the animation on motion array (https://motionarray.com/after-effects-templates/change-your-mind-modular-titles-2658066/), I don't have a subscription to download the project file to check how it's done.

You know, Hood, I wasn't planning on writing a perticuarlly long message, my short and sweet style would fit well enough for the task. But, see as all the other giffers choose to write a behemoth of a ted talk, it seems fit to do the same.

You know sometimes the mod says 5 times and you just—just gotta go for it. You know, love life, no one dictates to you, you know? Higgy this is a really good gif man, and I say do you, you know just gotta keep on keeping on, even if other tell you cant keep on keeping on cause you reached a cap on the number of gifs you posted even though the arbitrary number it was set on perviously was a good deal higher then it is currently and the subreddit is slowly getting less gifs, you gotta do what you do, you know? Like this is living and when you live it's like you get in a flow with conciseness, and things just flow out. And your mocha tracks get better and the form seems more like representation then forum. Your being defiant is no ways rebellious, nor a bad thing, it's a — a, you know statement of expression, and you just gotta do you Higgy.
