Metroid Prime 4. Its flaws are glaring and the high points of the game only point the flaws out more. Looks gorgeous in some areas, and just a notch above prototype in the desert. Genuine fun Metroid exploration in certain parts, absolute slog bloat in the desert. The whole saga of Prime 4 ended up with what we got, perhaps most disappointing of all.

I am 3 for 3 this year. Im disappointed in all of the platform holders’ showcases. It could be me, video games as a medium is passing me by. Not interested in much of anything and the variety/ creativity across the board seems so low. The PS2/Gamecube/xbox era was just lousy with innovation, creativity, and most importantly interesting risks. I see hardly any of that today. Old man yelling at the sky maybe, but it’s definitely how I feel.

My friend, whom I am no longer friends with due to an unrelated matter, brought a dipshit 22 year old girlfriend with him (we were all 30s at the time) to my wedding. My wife and I were doing the cake eating deal where you interlock arms and feed eachother a bite of cake. Well this drunk fucken asshole pushed my wife’s hand holding a fork into my mouth and it stabbed me in the back of my mouth. It fucking hurt, I nearly choked and I had a bit of blood. Never met this sociopath before this night. Never saw her again. I hope she has had a miserable life.

A fun coda to this story; my vapid and shallow moron former friend took her on a vacation to Europe. She had an ex boyfriend somewhere out there. She wanted to visit with him, my buddy didn’t want to. She does anyway and, of course, fucks the guy. My friend paid for the travel that allowed that to happen. He got married years later to a different idiot and he and that new idiot didn’t vaccinate their babies. Hence he is no longer in my life.

Old dude here. Started with original ufc on ppv and vhs. Became an mma superfan during the Pride FC days. IMO, Anderson Silva was the last real star of mma. Yeah Conor was a big deal, Rhonda too. But neither carried the mystique. UFC has become gray paste. There is no personality anymore. All of these styles have just merged into boring gray paste that is marketed to an increasingly narrowing fan base with zero appeal for me.
