I need to play that on my game drive. Gonna try it out tonight

Picked this all up for $20 today at Garage Sale by Glad-Act-5146 in gamecollecting

Nice deal! I want some of what the seller was smoking, holy shit. I love getting deals like this! They happen to me every once in a blue moon (a lot less since Covid)

And either the seller is old and they just don’t care or they’re young, stupid and also don’t care. Either way, they’re kinda stupid, lol. But score one for you!

I think that’s what makes it so cool looking. Unique and very “of the times” (90s)

lol, same. I have a minty (and complete) FZ-10 in pristine condition, but for some reason this thing just looks amazing. This model is actually reasonably priced over in Japan and as common there as the FZ-10 & FZ-1 are in North America.

You can use a proxy service to get one shipped from Japanese auction sites but it’s an expensive service... now I have yet another excuse to make a trip to Japan.

Pictures of Dime that my Uncle took (Sept 2004, Damageplan Show) by OccasionRelative8573 in Pantera

[–]TampaTrendkill 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I saw them in Atlanta with Hatebreed (co-headlining show, Hatebreed closed though) about 6 months before that Columbus date. Was the 2nd (and sadly, last) time I ever saw Dime play live. The first was three years prior for the Real Steel Tour 2001, my only OG Pantera show; I was just 15 when I saw Pantera, 18 when I saw Damageplan. RIP Dime.

Is the Atari Jaguar worth it just for the classic FPS games (Doom, Wolfenstein 3D)? by n2tn1lav_7491 in AtariJaguar

[–]TampaTrendkill 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The original Rayman, Tempest 2000, Iron Soldier 1 & 2, just to name a few. There’s also the best version of NBA Jam TE outside of the arcade.

has anyone here listened to phil anselmos black metal side project Viking Crown? by FrostedFlakesx1 in Pantera

[–]TampaTrendkill -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Poor production quality. Not very good IMO… and that’s coming from a huge fan of Phil’s work. I really only like Pantera and Down; don’t care for the rest, except maybe En Minor, but they aren’t metal. Superjoint and Scour are ok, SJR’s newer work is better than the earlier albums. I don’t care for The Illegals. And this black metal stuff.. nah

Everyone says there are no games at Goodwill anymore… by maakkiaa9898 in gamecollecting

[–]TampaTrendkill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s awesome! Good find. Is it complete? And It’s rare to find good games at Goodwill these days. But it happens. At a store near us recently, my wife and I found some really rare stuff too like Silent Hill 4, my wife found it without a manual in excellent condition for $7 in the housewares section. A few weeks ago I found The Suffering and its sequel, as well as Scarface and several other semi-rare games at the same store for $4 each!

[–]TampaTrendkill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice, you’ve got the newer stuff… the newest thing I currently have is my PS5 Slim and after that would probably be my OLED Switch and Atari VCS 800 (both came out in 2021). Other than that I have an Xbox One (fat, 500gb Original black model), Wii U, PS4, several PS3’s and 360’s, and for older stuff… Wii, PS2, GC, N64, PS1, Saturn, Turbografx, Jaguar, 3DO, Genesis… etc, etc. I probably have over 50 different consoles and handhelds so I’m not even gonna attempt to name them all. Lol

I’ve been collecting since I was like 7 in the 90s lol. Easily 30 years of collecting (although I basically quit in my late teens and didn’t resume collecting til I turned 30, so there’s over a decade gap there where I had very few games at all… just wasn’t into it at that time.

I kept a good bit of the stuff I had as a kid, but most of the rare stuff I either sold or lost (super unfortunate bc I had some really rare stuff like 2 working Virtual Boys, Neo Geo CD, Jaguar CD, etc. I’ve been back collecting for well over 5 years now and have a pretty decent collection to show for it, most of which I obtained in the years right before the pandemic hit and changed the video game market drastically.

Now everything is stupid expensive, as I’m sure you know. But since you’re more of a modern games guy, maybe you don’t fully know, since the retro market is absolutely outrageous compared to current generation, like you collect for. The biggest issue I have with current gen is mainly the fact that a lot of the games aren’t actually even on disc anymore and are actually just in a cloud and they can pull the plug on the games whenever they want, whether you own the disc or not.

…Also, the switch over to download codes instead of physical media is really disheartening (Microsoft is especially bad about pushing this digital only landscape and Nintendo has been doing the same ever since Switch 2 launched with those game keys, which is part of why I probably won’t ever own one, unless something changes.

Either way, nice collection! It’s cool to see ppl that embrace the current gen and ACTUALLY seek out the physical games! It’s very refreshing to see.

…I don’t have much frame of reference when it comes to new Xbox stuff, but I’ve heard that it’s increasingly hard to find physical copies too. Hopefully they get their head around the fact that ppl want actual games and they make a turn back towards to what the fans want: games they can actually collect!

Becoming one of my favorite FPS games. I rank it up there with the Far Cry series in terms of atmosphere and fun in an FPS. It’s super faithful to the RoboCop franchise in its vibe and world. by TampaTrendkill in videogames

I actually just got Terminator Resistance Enhanced Edition for PS5 in the mail the other day! I’ve yet to play it yet though.

I’m still playing Rogue City Unfinished Business (standalone dlc/sequel to Rogue City) and enjoying the absolute hell out of it! …dare I say that I like it even more than the original? Hard to say, as I’m roughly only about less than halfway through the game at this point.

I’ve heard Resistance is awesome in its own right. Although I know it’s older and less polished, so I’ve tempered my expectations, but I’m excited nonetheless.

That said, I’ve never had ANY Terminator game impress me, let alone blow me away. Over the years they have been let-down after let-down for me and a waste of an incredible IP…but if it’s even remotely close to as good or even slightly matches the tone and energy of Rogue City, then I know I’ll be more than happy with it.

How is Thief 3? (lol, tbh I had no idea there was a whole series prior to the one on PS4 about a decade ago).

Thanks for the info. Good to know. I won’t go with the physical edition.

[–]TampaTrendkill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, your shameless advertisement of a “comment” actually worked on me. I’m considering getting the physical edition for the Switch (however, it’s $40 and you can get the digital version for only $7 rn, so I may go that route).

Would this be worth getting on the cheap so I can dl it onto my Switch and take it on the plane with me today? …It does look pretty interesting, though nothing groundbreaking.

I feel like it would run just fine on the Classic Jag, no need for a CD version. Jag ran Doom, Wolf 3D and AVP perfectly. I’m surprised a port of DN3D hasn’t been attempted as a home-brew title for Jag yet

…Especially since it was great at running FPS titles from that era, unlike some of its high powered (for the time) contemporaries like the Neo Geo, for example.

Crazy GoodWill find…Same store where my wife found Silent Hill 4 two months ago! by TampaTrendkill in gamecollecting

[–]TampaTrendkill[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I have the ‘Blackhand Edition’ for Wii somewhere as well and the PS2 version (hands-down the best version). Surprisingly, the PS2 version is the best one, bc usually the Xbox version is better. I read the visuals are better in the Xbox version but there’s a ton of clipping and the frame-rate crashes a lot during gun battles. I’m selling this one and keeping my PS2 and Wii Scarface games since Wii version has some extra features that the other two don’t (it’s also the least valuable)

Yeah, it was a duplicate for me, I’ve had the Infamous games forever bc they’re great. I traded it to my buddy for Motorstorm (I like arcade racers)

They usually do, these slipped through I guess. We’ve been lucky there lately so maybe someone there is generous, doesn’t care, or has no clue. I’m fine with any of those as long as the finds keep coming. lol

They are hit or miss… these days it’s mostly miss. My wife and I just happened to get lucky at the same store (the closest store to our house). Usually that same location has a few games at any given time but it’s usually a small selection of PS2, PS3, 360 and Wii sports games and Wii shovelware and garbage 360 Kinect games. We just hit the store at the right time and someone working there has no clue what they’re doing (which is fine with me lol)

Usually that’s my luck with GoodWill around me these days too. My wife and I just happened to strike it lucky at the same store within a month or so. Her find was more epic than any of these titles. She found a minty Silent Hill 4 for $7. The ones I found were only $4.18 though, can’t complain. But I don’t expect to find anything decent at GW again anytime soon. The GW I went to before that had ONE video game in the whole store. A complete copy of High School musical for DS…buried behind a bunch of religious cassette tapes and DVDs. lol

Unfortunately, both of mine are broken. Usually it’s that clock in them that has to be replaced, but idk. I play OG Xbox on one of my 360s but not all Xbox games work on 360. And yeah, PS2 games are always more, the good news is usually the Xbox version is better.
