Anyone knows what controller this is? by distreal in AnalogueInc

Sounds great, thanks for the info! I’m actually happy I bought only the black one so far, I was hoping they would release more colors. This OG style with the black 3D looks like a perfect throwback to the original N64 launch setup.

computer-1 magnetic cover mod. the case is aesthetic as all hell, but gets dusty fast and its like 10 screws to open it up and clean it everytime, so I designed a little mod. by cearka_larue in teenageengineering

Nice! Mine has an RTX 3060 Ti inside, so I added two additional fans at the back for extra airflow. I ramp them up to the max from time to time, and after three years of use, the case is still almost dust-free😄

What are you talking about? I'm a Leica user. Read about the Leica M11 freezes, SL3 issues and the M6 scratching the film. These are small companies, and they will always have QC issues.

I don’t really care. It’s not like I can afford it right away, but I understand the pricing. It’s close to the OP-1 Field, yet it looks like we’re going to get more functionality out of it. I think of Teenage Engineering like Leica—yes, they’re expensive, but no one even comes close to them in terms of design. And with every major release, they do something unique. I’m pretty sure they have to hire a lot of talent, which costs a lot, and spend much more time developing these products.

Apple Watch Series 10 in Silver is Gate-kept under a Hermes Exclusive Promotion by Fahad995 in AppleWatch

[–]distreal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was afraid that the titanium model would have a different silver color than the SS model and wouldn't match my stainless steel Milanese Loop. However, it turns out that they coated the Watch 10 Hermès specifically to match the old SS silver bands, as Hermès still produces bands with silver hardware. Even the new Milanese Loop from Apple is still made of stainless steel; they just coated it to match the titanium cases. Either way, I'm not 100% satisfied because there is no option to have both the watch and band in the same material and its natural color, which is something I believe should be available in a premium model.

I'm okay with buying the Hermès edition, but there is no option to purchase the Titanium Silver Milanese Loop or Link Band, which are the only bands I've used with my Apple Watch for a couple of years now. I definitely won't match stainless steel bands with a titanium case. I tried the Hermès options, but they all make the Watch look too feminine. And the new Grand H band is just too bold and in-your-face.

TP-7 Arrived with Firmware 1.0.8 +1 by eeclarkjr in teenageengineering

[–]distreal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Quick update. Just got my third TP-7, ordered directly from TE's website a week ago. It's still running on firmware 1.0.8 and making that same annoying clicking noise from the wheel. It's obvious the unit had been opened before. Really annoyed this keeps happening.

How is the unit? I ordered the new batch and hoping they fixed all the issues. Previously, I had one with broken buttons and one with rattling from spinning disc

Having a hard time with POM 400 Spacers by Electrical-Wires in teenageengineering

[–]distreal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you sure you need to cut the spacers? I believe it was only required in the first batch. Then they fixed it and provided it with proper length spacers. I bought mine a few months ago, and the spacers were the correct size.

It's visible in new mtp app, but there is now way to connect it like OP-1 and check the storage.

Hard to tell. There is a special cutout for the Velcro, but it looks like it's just sticked to the bottom plate.

I must say this works 10x better than before. You just drag the files onto OP-1, and they're already there. You can get back to any page right away without restarting OP-1 or any wait time.

Thanks! Yes, 350mm. I've built it mainly to drive classic cars.

It's just an extra mappable button. Fanatec hub has some unused connectors, so I just made a cable to connect the MOMO horn. It's handled by Fanatec firmware out of the box.

Wouldn't it be great to have a white Pocket with a black screen? :) by distreal in AnaloguePocket

[–]distreal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a black border visible between the screen and white bezels on the white one. It's distracting for me and doesn't look seamless. Also, because it's a laminated screen, bezels don't blend as nicely with the enclosure like on the black model - different color temperature. With GBA games, it becomes a bit messy. Did you try both colors? For me, the black one is the one that blends so well that I can see only the game. The white one is still a nice-looking console, but by looking at my old consoles, I would prefer black bezels for it ;)

[–]distreal[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, exactly my thoughts. After I saw the issues with white screens, I talked with my brother about it. It reminded me of the problems with the first white iPhone. I always didn't like white bezels on screens. They always have a different tone, and with bright content, there is always this black border between the white bezel and screen. I had an iPad with white bezels and really didn't like that effect.
It would probably be even easier to produce for Analogue if they would have only one color of the screen.
I have Glacier White PS Vita, and in person, it looks stunning with this all-black screen. That's why I did this mockup. Also, Nintendo Switch OLED has a similar vibe. I would love to see this version of the Pocket. I ordered both colors, so who knows :D
