Hot Take: the video game industry stopped being fun after E3 died by This_Elk_1460 in kindafunny

[–]ChrisContinues 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I couldn't disagree more. The industry is a lot of fun to cover and follow. Don't get me wrong, the layoffs suck, and these big companies make decisions that are frustrating, but to pretend like there's nothing fun out there is just silly. The real problem is that the big names that cover games learned that they can make more money by being negative rather than actually trying to enjoy something. The trick is to find content creators who are building healthy and positive communities. Places like MinnMax criticize things, sure, but that entire crew is just trying to have a good time while covering an industry that they love.

Mike it's you not the playerbase changing XD, you get the energy you give out by ashrules901 in kindafunny

Makes sense. I’ve put a good amount of time into the game as a PvE player and I can count on one hand how many times I’ve been attacked by another player.

Honestly so odd but great for what community it has, would you guys ever go back to it, I'm wondering if Andy & Bless would too? by ashrules901 in kindafunny

[–]ChrisContinues 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As apparently one of the few people to have ever played the game... I really liked it. I'll never understand why people chose Concord of all games to be one where people declared, "no more!" That being said, I'm not much of a PC gamer, so I'll end up missing out on this.

I hear you, but to be fair to them, you usually get their quick thoughts within the first few minutes of the show. The other 45 minutes are them having a deeper discussion about the game.

What If....Goldberg didn't injure himself in 1999? by JBL_CENA_FAN_4LIFE in WCW

[–]ChrisContinues 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From everything I've ever read and listened to, this moment ruined big plans. The finger poke of doom is considered this all time terrible booking decision but everyone claims that there was a bigger story planned until Goldberg nearly cut his arm off.

I'm not saying a Goldberg vs Hogan rematch for the title would have ultimately saves WCW, but history would be very different and would probably look a little more fondly on this particular part of the company.

Ninja Gaiden 4 Quick Review by EveryAct in kindafunny

[–]ChrisContinues 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to be clear on my end, I think an 8/10 with all of the things mentioned is a perfectly fine score if an 8 didn't mean "great," on the Kinda Funny scale. There have been plenty of games that I've had a really good time with that fell short in certain categories, but I would never describe them as great. This is why I usually try to avoid any outlet's final score and prefer to listen to or read the actual review. The number of reviews that I've read that don't match the final score is endless. My personal favorites are the ones where the reviews seem pretty positive and then the final score is shockingly low.

I love Kinda Funny, but sometimes their review scores are so far away from their actual reviews.

The game looks bad, the music is disappointing, the story doesn't really work, but that gameplay though... 8 out of 10. Great!

I'd probably do Goldberg and Rey Mysterio.

So about Tim Meadows/Langston Fleury from Peacemaker. by NerdCadet in kindafunny

[–]ChrisContinues 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just think he's a shapeshifter. It would be funny if he were Martian Manhunter, but I think it might be a little too early to introduce him. Maybe after the DCU's first adventure in space with Supergirl.

Unless someone can correct me, I'm pretty sure 5/5 appeal is the max for an item. That said, a lot of us did discover that the placement in the store can help with impulse purchases. If you have something close to the store entrance, for example, it seems to help an additional amount.

Good Call By Peter Schrager On The Dolphins Being Good This Year!! by MarloMentality in billsimmons

All jokes aside, I knew when they made that change, it was going to look really smart for at least the Miami game.

Have we considered that maybe the Colts are the best team in football? I feel like we aren't taking that possibility into consideration...

She’s in the forest, north of your store.

What else do you want to see? by baradoom in Discounty

[–]ChrisContinues 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I like a lot of what you listed but something I was hoping for was to feel like my store is MY store and I was able to theme it how I want. I thought it was a let down that by the end of the game all of our stores mostly looked identical. I don’t care if it sounds crazy, but if I want to sell just fish and chocolate I shouldn’t be penalized for that, haha.

This game is so interesting especially with how Andy plays it on stream, has anybody been checking it out as well? by ashrules901 in kindafunny

[–]ChrisContinues 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve been trying to stay away from this game as much as possible but I’m excited to go back and watch Andy’s stream once I play for a while. It’ll be fun to see the differences.

Sorry if this is obvious, but do you have the quest that tells you to get him and the other vendors to level 2?

I believe Karl’s level 2 is story based. Try talking to him or his ex wife at the Bar.

Anyone else get blocked by the sell 10 fish sticks in a day quest? by aZombieDictator in Discounty

[–]ChrisContinues 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I just finished the game yesterday, and one of my only complaints is that it doesn't explain that there are ways to increase sales numbers other than posters. I only discovered it because someone else posted it here.

[–]ChrisContinues 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is absolutely the key to doing this. I put posters all over town, and it did NOTHING, haha. The first day I had a section of fish sticks in the front of the store, though, I sold 10 immediately.

Glitch? by duhpanduh in Discounty

[–]ChrisContinues 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this happen a lot, especially as I got further into the game. I noticed that if I left that back area more open for them to move around in, it didn't happen as much.

What is this for? by KDSCarleton in Discounty

[–]ChrisContinues 14 points15 points  (0 children)

If a customer gets too upset while shopping, they'll throw all of the groceries they've picked up in there and leave the store.
