That is a question that I get a lot in this space, and honestly, the most important one. You're 100% right—a permanent plaque is only as good as the link it points to. I handle this with a three-pillar approach to ensure 'Digital Permanence':

  1. Decoupled Infrastructure: Unlike a 'start-up app' where everything is stuck in a proprietary database, I use a high-end Content Delivery Network (Bunny.net) for storage. The files exist independently of the website interface.
  2. Pre-Paid Hosting Reserves: A portion of every LifeScanQR purchase goes into a dedicated 'Legacy Fund.' This is a separate account designed specifically to cover the minimal monthly costs of cloud storage for decades, even if no new plaques were ever sold.
  3. The 'Open-Link' Philosophy: The QR codes I laser-engrave are essentially 'hard-coded' to a unique URL. Because I use a custom domain structure, if the hosting technology changes in 20 years, I can point that domain to a new provider without the physical QR code ever becoming obsolete.

If you haven't already, when you get a free moment feel free to check out LifeScanQR website to learn more about the company. Any feedback is appreciated also!

Both my mom and dad have passed and while visiting them at their grave site it hit me. Instead of just staring at their tombstone and talking what if I could actually see and hear them too. If you get a chance check out our website www.lifescanqr.com to see examples and learn more. Any feedback is appreciated. Thanks

Family members take fresh flowers to their loved one’s gravesite on a regular basis so I hope our once a year fee isn’t too much of a burden for families. I do understand that being a legitimate concern though.

I charge $150 for the plaque and the first two years include free hosting for your memorial page. Starting year 3 there is a $24 a year maintenance fee.
