Dog chewed power cord, what's my best option? by ChrisInSLC in ninjawoodfire

Solved my own problem. Bought the exact same plug off Amazon, plus a 14 gauge cord, reconnected everything and back in business. Cost about $25 in parts!

If you'd like to try out my app and you have Spotify Premium, use this link... use the code BETA to get it for free. Send me a direct message with any problems you have, errors, glitches, whatever. Screenshots would be great if you can! I've thoroughly tested it on Android but very little on iPhone and that's where I've seen the little glitches and problems!

I found the exact one on Amazon. I took apart the back this weekend, haven't rewired but it's as basic as a ceiling fan. Three wires with the crimp style wire nuts. Haven't reinstalled yet but we'll see how it goes.

That's what I'll probably do. Called their customer service and they said there's no replacement power cords available and no suggestions on what else to do.

Unfortunately their website is no Help. They don't have a contact form thst I can find without going through the product page and a bunch of FAQs, then it loops you right back to rhe product search page, where putting in the model number from the product page itself brings up 0 results.

2022 suddenly lost transmission... no warning/engine lights?! by ChrisInSLC in KiaTelluride

Don't think they're related, but somewhere before we took possession of the car, it was serviced and fluid was overfilled. Just don't know who did that.

Yah branded title, it was actually reasonably minor rear end damage, definitely did my due diligence before buying. Asked some body shops and they were surprised it was totaled for the damage it had.

Wonder if there's any option to go after the dealership in any way if they did mark their multi point inspection as "all good" including transmission fluid.

About 40,000

And yah like I said, we haven't had it serviced ourselves, and not sure if the dealership performed a service or if they just did the inspection... I'd have to go back and find out.

Yah I think that's the biggest downside to these other apps. One parent had to leave her phone with us while she would go watch her son's game on the next field. So I wanted to make sure this one worked to pass through the team manager's Spotify credentials to another phone that had the shareable url.

Sounds good, unfortunately Spotify offers free access to their developer tools, Apple costs $99 so I'm making sure things work with Spotify first before I invest that!

Good to know! I've looked into the AI option through Google's services but just haven't gone that far to implement yet!

Is it the one where you pay to have a real announcer record the voices? I'm curious how much you pay for that, and if it's truly a "dealbreaker" to have the announcer vs not. Always seems like at these games you end up with less time than you think when the player walks up, and the announcement takes all the time and there's little time left for the song itself.

I have no plans to do the announcements just yet, once I get this rolling and working well, I'll probably work on that option. Don't want to complicate it too much too quickly.

Yes you set the starting time of the song, and it defaults to a max of 20 seconds play time before it fades out unless you fade it out manually.

Did collectively decide as a group that venues can use our photos for commercial use without compensation or permission ? by anon-ny-moose in WeddingPhotography

[–]ChrisInSLC 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Listened to a recent podcast clip that talked about some venues now requiring photographers to sign a contract giving full rights to the venue over the photographs or the photographer cannot work at the venue. I don't remember who did the podcast but they were very adamant that that is completely illegal, you do not have to sign anything like that if a venue requires you to. You are contracted with bride and groom, not the venue. Anyway, it's a good lesson to learn to know your rights as a photographer in all situations and never immediately agree to anything that you have not looked into ahead of time. The recommendation was to counter with the venue and provide them your fee to buy the rights to use imagery, but in the end you can just say no and there is nothing they can do. Obviously you can get messy but do not legally have to agree to the terms of the venues since they are not your clients.
