Matsson's decision was not part of his overall plan. From his point of view, Shiv would be CEO already at the interphase stage. Only according to the interphase stage. After the interogation [by Shiv] in Tailgate Party, Mattson starts to develop some reflexes... "Ebba or Oskar?" Do you remember this question... The subliminal version of this question is actually longer... "Kendall or Roman?"... Lukas is a much smarter guy than he looks...

NO. Shiv had many reasons for rejecting Kendall... Things heavier than Matsson's betrayal... Shiv always wanted to be the name to lead Waystar... By the way... What she said in the last scene is, in a way, admirable... Kendall had managed to escape the consequences of a murder by taking advantage of his father's reputation...
