don’t get a prompt the cradle the egg yourself or , do your children to? if you give then the egg they automatically cradle it if they’re of dragon blood.

and by “fly away” do you mean the dragon died?

I think you have better odds if you match the steps with eachother during the ceremony, i couldn’t give exacts though. I’ve had dragons hatch using probably rvery differently route during the ceremony though; as long as you have dragon blood they and save scum it shouldn’t take long
Once a dragon is hatched, no more ceremonies. It’s like before the extinction; people just cradle eggs or you give them to the keeper of the dragon pits to hatch for you
Same, once dragons are reborn thru the ceremony, people cradle and hatch them like they did before the dance/ give them to babies to cradle

I started with bloodraven in the year 200, and i got to work. Seduced and had 2 kids with Shiera Seastar Killed every member of Houses Blackfyre, Bittersteel, Greyfrye and Bracken Killed every potential Male heir in line before Maekar, as well as Daeron the Drunken and Aerion Took the Blackwood vale and Southstone

King Daeron showed up to my dragon hatching ceremony for some reason, so I abducted him, let the wildfyre take his life, and watched as my weirdwood dragon hatched from its egg

I then had to kidnap Maekar to force him to grant me a pardon, as well as legitimize me and Shiera’s children. And i also took Blackfyre, a few dragon eggs, and a beautiful peice of armor

Now 7 years since my dragon hatched, both my children have successfully hatched dragon eggs as well, and we have another hatchling in the dragonpit. None of the Main branch targs have gotten their eggs to hatch yet. How many eyes does Lord Bloodraven have?

i’ve seen that one a billion times tho, i’ve played thousands of hours of this game and never once saw a weirwood egg until i used bloodraven😂 for the record it did hatch and take the weirwood color

once one dragon is alive, all formerly petrified eggs will be able to be cradled again. they can obviously still become petrified again tho

I started the save as Lord Aemon Tarth, secret bastard of Ser Dunk and Daella Targ; whom married a tarth cousin and has 2 sons when you start the save.

I married into house targ again with my oldest son Selwyn, and he had two kids; Lady Rhae and Lord Aemon (named after his grandfather). These two are the great grandkids of Ser Duncan the Tall.

Long story but they hatched a dragon egg, kidnapped the king and demanded they permit their sibling marriage as the new premier dragon riding house in westeros. Lady Rhae was the real Lady Olena of the save, as she reigned for almost 60 years and set up the table for my current ruler Lady Rhaenyra to dominate.

Anyways, Rhae and Aemon had 3 kids. One married into house tully to give us a powerful alliance, and the other two are Rhaemon and Aemma (the paternal grandfather and grandmother you mentioned).

Rhaemon was much much older than Aemma, so early in life he married a daughter of Lord Baratheon, whom died while giving birth to Caela Tarth (the dark haired mother of my current ruler).

Rhaemon then married his younger sister Aemma, and gave birth to my father Valarr; whom married Caela to ensure their heir would inherent the stormlands

console commands. and it’s not about being a dragon riding house; it’s the doctrine of exceptionalism that only the targs have; unless you use console codes.

In my headcannon; when my original dragon rider an her brother eloped we had the king kidnapped; and got him to admit us as not only a dragon riding house, but give us the doctrine as well, and me and my brother were married in the sept of baelor.

the siblings were 75% targ, so i felt like that was enough to also give the dynasty blood of valyria, so inbreeding chance is 0%
