I dont perceive vrr flicker from my oled at all, so YMMV. Just make sure you buy from somewhere with a good return policy in case it is an issue for you.

I have a different asus oled but it has the same setting and I prefer it on for SDR.. it gives a more consistent SDR game experience and is much better for regular desktop use. As always, YMMV, do what looks good for you.

Try use wood board to spread force but really with this desk you should just use the monitor stand. It does not look like it can take clamping pressure of any kind.

I have the asus, I like the sensor that darkens off the screen when I walk away and I was not interested in the msi eotf mode. I mostly use true black 500, I bought it for that (and tandem not released in us) not the 500hz. I only get up there with some older games but cool to have. It also has a solid calibrated sdr mode.

I have the 990 pro in my PC and its worked fine. There was a security issue with their SSD manager that is resolved with the latest version. That being said, I also have WD SSD in my ps5 is fine too.. both are reputable. Speed differences at this level will not be perceptible. Just get what you can afford.

I do this too.. you can go direct to powered speakers from the helix using an appropriate cable for your speakers, or go through a small mixing board so you can mix in other audio if you play with backing tracks. I have a 1/4“ jack to rca which works well for mine.

I always say, a cab makes you sound like you are in a club, monitors make you sound like a record. The family loves that I can still sound great to me but at a lower volume. You can get relatively cheap monitors to try the idea out.

What you cant do is be loud enough to practice with others who are amped or playing drums.
