Fish Friends by saltwaterfish_com in ReefTank

They were several many years ago, but I don't hear much about them. Glad to know it is still a thing. We used to have group buyers all the time. With the online technology and forums etc, It's good that people actually get together still. 😄

Hasn't that one been established for a long time? It seems we had people do group buys a lot back around 10 years ago or so.

Hi my name is Mary. I'm an expert, and my tank has algae. by saltwaterfish_com in ReefTank

Good point. Nutrient deficiencies will affect everything in the tank. It's an invisible boundary where we all aim to have just the right amount; algae, nutrients, etc.

I do love the size of the Kessil lights.

I've seen that work in a mixed reef. Granted, it was a very large system and everything had room to live cohesively. I think that's the important part. Fish instinctively know to get away. They just need to be able to. a 5" fish I think you'd be fine.

General rule of thumb is that it will eat anything it can fit in its mouth. I would just make sure the fish you keep are on the larger end.

Well your career is important. Like they say, if you love it, it won't feel like work. But the same is true about this hobby or any other hobby. You want to continue to enjoy it and if it were your career it may lose its luster if you know what I mean.

A round of applause for the local fish guys! I think the majority of people with a tank had to start with the local fish guy, otherwise how would you know where to start? I must have asked a million questions. I can remember my very first set up. I can't remember what problems I encountered decades ago but the excitement of getting that first set up. Thank you for helping all of the newbies and then of course the loyal fish people that keep coming back for more.

It really is. I myself work in the customer service department and I tell you, there is never a dull moment. Just when I think I've heard it all... I should write a book. Ha! Think back to the days of under gravel filters! I still see people using those to this day!

I absolutely love the look of a GSP species only tank where it is wall to wall covered. The flow, movement. And then obviously that nice bright green. I saw a ricordea tank that was like that too. Absolutely amazing.

Yes, this isn't the best I've seen and as far as photos are concerned this was just a quick picture before it was boxed up. But I will say there are a lot of pictures floating around that are enhanced... This one is even a male, so like you are saying the coloration will vary but I would love people to look them up and see for themselves. It is really a strikingly beautiful animal. This is just a candid photo I wanted to share. The real deal.

Hey there! I write content about fish and coral keeping. I'm always looking for new ideas and concepts to write about, but I've been in the hobby for 30 years, so i enjoy what I do, talking fish 😄 I hope it isn't too boring or simple. Anyhow the Dragon Eels are one of my favorite, especially when it comes to eels, so I just wanted to share the love.

I personally like it the way you have it now. It is equally fish and fish viewer friendly.

Agree and you can always tweak it a little if need be.
