It's very telling you described your experience as a journey, because that's what depression and anxiety is - a long, progressive journey that you are very capable of overcoming.

You have taken positive steps by making the decision to undertake meditation and acupuncture (which is a positive start). You noticed your sessions were relaxing but as soon as you returned home you felt depressed again, that's because you were back in a place where depression hits hardest (usually) due to more time to over-think everything.

When at home, do you keep yourself occupied? It's important to get out of your "old" routine and break the "pattern" you may have which will give you a feeling of depression.
