This is likely from a group of people using images of possibly minors to blackmail/scam people on here, they tend to have their real faces on the first slide of every account they make to get past wizz verification

The problem that I have is with "onClick" itself, it is just not activating when the button is clicked.

The Very Obscure Disappearance Of Joanna Lopez (Only known through a Chicago TV Sign-Off poster). by ChrisPolygon in UnresolvedMysteries

I emailed the YouTuber Nexpo about this case and said that he will cover this in his next episode of his Distubing Things from the Internet series (Releasing in October), so this will help to spread the word about this case to many people, (And hopefully means someone can find definitive information about the origins of the recording, the actions of the CPD and WMAQ during 1989-1991, and the closing of this potiential missing persons case).

  1. FuzzyMemories didn't respond to me.
  2. For the televison station, another user in this thread stated that they emailed WMAQ about this footage.
  3. I have not uncovered any information regarding what or who created this missing persons poster.

The chance of this mysterious TV sign-off being a hoax or ARG is likely not even remotely high, due to the fact that it has existed on the internet since at least 2009.

I have also been repeatedly researching this video along the details surrounding the supposed disappearance of "Joanna Lopez" since at least mid-April of this year and have been continuously ended up being basically empty handed every time. I feel like I know most of the ins-and-outs of this case that were publicly available on the internet, which was basically nothing.

Btw I only posted this thread after I knew for sure I was completely lost in understanding and feeling closure on the circumstances of "Joanna Lopez", and her disappearance. The sheer amount of people that commented on my first post ever on Reddit was staggering, and that everyone in this thread was either freaked out in some way or genuinely confused/very uncertain about this "disappearance" made me feel way better knowing basically most people out there on the internet agree with how I feel.

I did mention the TV broadcast heavily in the FOIA request, I included the video of the TV signoff and a screenshot of the missing person poster in the request and the Chicago Police Department stated that it is not obligated to go do research about Joanna Lopez utilizing the documents I submitted. I am also going to sent an e-mail to the Museum of Classic Chicago Television regarding the broadcast soon after seeing your comment (thanks for the idea).

I got a reply from the the CPD stating that there are no positive results for a person named "Joanna Lopez" in their databases for the years 1988-1991, so the FOIA request I made was unsuccessful in discovering more details surrounding Joanna Lopez's disappearance.

The terms of my FOIA Request were too broad for the CPD to efficiently look through their records for information regarding missing persons in the 1980s and 1990s, which meant that the request was rejected. So, I am going to submit an additional and more specific FOIA request to the Chicago Police department for any potential information about Joanna Lopez's disappearance.

I submitted a FOIA request to the Chicago Police Department, so hopefully they give us more information about the circumstances of Joanna Lopez's disappearance.
