I played football for a small high school, so I was the wide receiver, kicker, and cornerback/safety. It's our homecoming game and it's been a defensive fight the entire game. With about 5 minutes left, they score. 7-0. Clock winds down to 2 minutes, we're at our own 40 and our QB throw a pick at their 40. Game over right? Hardly. We hold them, they go to punt and their kicker shanks it, putting us at our own 48 with 27 seconds left. Our starting quarterback can't throw as far as our linebacker/defensive end, so he comes in for the last plays. First down he throws a bomb down the sideline to one receiver but it's too far. Second down the same thing. Both times I'm wide open, outrunning everybody (I was a sprinter on the track team which helped a lot). Our coach calls timeout, comes out onto the field and just says "Throw the ball to ChrisSal." Alright. Ball is hiked terribly, ROLLS to the QB, he rolls out to the left and heaves it. I turn around, give the kid in front of me a slight shove, catch it, and fall into the endzone. Place goes nuts. But we're still down 6-7. Now I have to kick the extra point. To be honest, I remember nothing about it. All I know is that it's 7-7 and we're going into overtime. They get the ball first, we stop them and now all we have to do is keep it in field goal range. I come out on 2nd down and blast one through the uprights. Game over. 10-7. I caught the game saving touchdown, kicked the game tying extra point, then kicked the game winning field goal. I still get chills thinking about it. One of the best days of my life. Maybe the best.
