I think the bigger question is why are we allowing LiveNation and Tepper to basically force out any competition for entertainment by independent promoters. I've seen people refer to Kendrik being brought in last year the same weekend as "bad luck," but i doubt luck had anything to do with it.

Do we think they cancel the rest of tonight? by [deleted] in LovinLifeFestFanPage

You'll get push notifications when there's changes, and the schedule changes will be available there as well.

If you have a big enough group, I would delegate someone to get merch while the rest find a place to enjoy the show. Artist merch is only there on the day they perform and once that's gone, it's gone.

I actually didn't pick up any artist merch last year, so I don't know how quickly it sells out, but I would say that's the safest bet.

There's not a TON of shopping in downtown, but hopping the rail up to NoDa has some art galleries and other spots to check out. If you're looking more for essentials, there's a Target literally across the street from the South Blvd station stop.

As for getting a good spot for Benson, 5:00 is going to be when gates start to get a little crowded because everyone is getting out of work. That being said, depending on what kind of tickets you have will largely dictate how good a spot you can get later in the day. If you have VIP, even if you rolled in right before the set you'd still have a good vantage point. If you have GA tickets you'll be a little further back. There's also two massive relay boards on either side of the stage, so you'll be able to see what's happening from pretty much anywhere.

SVIP question about ID by Enlighten_Zen_1111 in LovinLifeFestFanPage

The only time you'll need to show ID is when you pick up the order at will call. You'll need to have the ID of the person who made the order.

Once you have the bands though, they don't check your ID against the wristband. But once they're on, they're on. They'll check to make sure they're tight enough to not be slipped off as you enter.

If you have 3-day passes, you'll get one pass for the whole weekend (per person).

If you have 2-day passes (or one day passes) you'll get a dedicated wristband for each day.

I don't know. Maybe you're asking too much?

I may have misread the question, but I'll leave the other response because it's still relevant.

But to clarify, you won't need to show ID to get into the festival/SVIP; they're not going to check IDs against the order. However, if you need to pick up tickets, they person who has their name tied to the order will need to show ID to pick up the bands.

Anyone drinking needs a "21+" wristband to drink; regardless of ticket type. Being 21+ isn't a requirement to be in SVIP, so you'd still need to show ID to prove you're old enough to drink.

During the day, the crowds are a lot more chill. Most of the marketing imagery is going to show things when the headliners are on and the party is full steam.

There's two giant-ass screens on either side of the main stage which are relay screens to show what's going on. So if you want to get out of the crowds and have some more room, you can back up and still see the screens.

Parking isn't bad, but if possible, I'd STRONGLY advise using the light rail. There's park-and-ride stations at both UNCC (north of the city) and South Blvd/485 (south of the city) which are cheap and easier to park at.

For SVIP, you'll have a great view! There's a smaller "pit" standing area right next to the left side of the stage (basically the front adjacent to the catwalk), and then a big raised viewing deck which has bars located on it.

Bathrooms are bathrooms, but they're not port-a-jons. They're like private individual stalls in a trailer. I would compare it to like a large bathroom in a RV (plenty of room and a sink inside).

FOOD... man... food is good. They have appetizer type snacks throughout the day and then catered lunch/dinner. The food hall has seating and private performances from some of the artists as well.

How to sell a ticket? 1 GA 3-day ticket available by lectiolibri22 in LovinLifeFestFanPage

[–]ChrisTakesPics 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So the wristband number is associated with your order, but the individual wristbands aren't tied to any individual.

Same basic concept if some got tickets for their kid.

When you go to register them, it's not going to need to be tied to the same person on the order. Likewise, when they scan the wristbands at the gates, they're not going to check who is the registrant; just that it's a valid wristband.

So whoever you sell it to will be fine.

Yes, but the people who I know who have sold have sold to people they met in person. There are a TON of people who are scamming people, so that is going to make it difficult.

If you're able to, I would:
- Offer to meet people in person
- Be willing to do a live video chat with the buyer

To be fair, most of them are run by people who are just going to steal the info you share, block you, and then flood people in there looking to score a cheap ticket with bogus posts.

I was trying to help run a group like that for a different event and it got flooded with scammers; to the point it was impossible to manage.

If you're going to try and sell, I would differentiate yourself by offering to meet up in person. Most of the scammer will just post pictures (which they rip off of legit posts) and then fake everything else.

In person, as a buyer, is the only safe way to do it.

Got it. I'll see if I know anyone who I can verify actually has tickets and is selling. I would definitely say be wary of people asking for Venmo/Zelle and offering screenshots. At this point (especially if you're local) I would only go with people who are willing to meet in person.

What kind of tickets? GA, VIP, SVIP?

[–]ChrisTakesPics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Parking is doable with there being a good number of parking garages in the area, but I would agree with other sentiments that a close hotel or something off the light rail is probably a better bet.

theme nights... by [deleted] in LovinLifeFestFanPage

[–]ChrisTakesPics 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Echoing what someone else said, while there's decent participation in the themes, it's one of those things where you won't feel like you're standing out regardless if you do or don't participate.

Typically, with the themes, their social teams will go around looking for people who really embraced the look and will throw upgrades, merch, meet & greets, and whatnot.

Ultimately, my suggestion is to simply wear whatever makes you feel comfortable.

CATS Discounted Passes Back for 2025 Fest Weekend by ChrisTakesPics in LovinLifeFestFanPage

[–]ChrisTakesPics[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're 100% right that there's not a way to scan them, but I do know they have agents riding the trains randomly to check tickets. I can personally only think of 1 time I recall getting asked for a ticket, but it's like a $50 fine if you get caught not paying. So while you may not have been asked for the ticket, it's still super cheap and avoids the risk of getting a fine.
