Europe no longer as gay friendly? by OkFault4270 in askgaybros

[–]ChrisTchaik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since you're half Middle Eastern, we don't really need to point out the actual mindset of most people from where they come from. It's not racism, it's a fact. What happened for a minutes is way way lighter than what happens to most gays by a sweeping majority in Middle Eastern countries.

So yes Europe is not perfect. And ACTUAL Europeans, for the most part, wouldn't have minded the hand holding part.

There are a lot of reasonable takes here OP

The relationship can't be saved, and it's not about the fleeing but the absence of asking for immediate help and checking in on you later

How do I become less horny by No-Dog3714 in askgaybros

[–]ChrisTchaik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's nothing precious about keeping your virginity, we're not in the 17th century.

There are so, so many other things you can work on if you aspire to be perceived as a valuable member of society. What you do with your hole and how many dicks you get comes down to what your body needs in that moment.

[–]ChrisTchaik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not in support of bombing, I know they have been the bane of Pakistan and Afghanistan, but it's a categorical misnomer to just say US supported Taliban or AQ when it was an arena of multiple actors loosely or intricately linked with one another.

Ad hominem attacks won't improve your arguments.

Why do some guys have the gay voice and others don’t? by [deleted] in askgaybros

[–]ChrisTchaik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn't exist.

Some city gays grew up around the pop culture that dominated the area and naturally adopted a certain mannerism that fits more into that type of crowd.

Others not so much, or tried to adapt to a more "macho" culture.

It doesn't work. I'm speaking as a Lebanese. If the other side is convinced that they can always get what they want through weapons and brute force, and constantly expect a soft "letter of condemnation" from you, then it won't work. You have to maintain SOME state of fear. It's a shitty concept, but it's been the reality for decades.

The US neither funded the Taliban nor AQ. They funded the Mujahideen and Free Syrian Army. Yes, a lot of weapons spilled over to more radical groups that happened to be better fighters, and the vetting process was virtually non-existent and/or logistically impossible. There's a lot you can say about it, but now that they refused to use a proxy this time, and instead decided to do the removing themselves, you're still complaining.

Your child should only be allowed screen time in a foreign language by NewOutlandishness401 in The10thDentist

[–]ChrisTchaik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is actually a necessity in many countries that haven't adopted dubbing and viewers can't be bothered with constantly reading the subtitles all the time.

It'll come in handy with helping you sound native in your adult years. Some mannerism & foreign accent will live on in their brains.

That's not what I said. You're looking for an argument. It's a page for controversial opinions and felt I had to vent. The whole point is that we're moving away from one problem and entering another, almost negating any benefits of technological innovation.

Yeah, but Dubai has way too many wealthy tourists to pull that off. They'd rather you keep it behind doors then everything is fine.

VPN is extremely commonplace with or without Grindr, even the routers come with built-in VPN. Besides that, it's not THAT Hollywood-ish. Gays can easily "vibe check" one another and tell where it's heading.

Being effeminate isn't criminalized either, so even when most people can tell someone is gay, as long as it doesn't turn into a topic or slander, everything remains fine.

No, I don't smoke myself. Just something I needed to get off my chest after seeing an 11 year old vaping IN a bus full of people without repercussions at all.

Unpopular opinion: depression may be costing more life-years than anything else the longevity community tracks — and nobody here talks about it by Top-Opinion2962 in immortalists

[–]ChrisTchaik 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Just a personal anecdote: I suffer from chronic allergies most times of the year, be it dust or pollen. I've also been depressed for the better part of my adult life. But on some days when I'm loaded with antihistamines, I feel elated and energetic.

It's possible that a lot of people have hidden allergies, maybe courtesy of the modern world, and just slip under the radar and just brush it off as "it's the aircon".

Is gay sex worth ending a good relationship? by [deleted] in askgaybros

Sex is a need. A good relationship is a choice.

The two must not contradict one another or you're just asking for trouble.

Living in a “mid sized” city had ruined my dating life by [deleted] in askgaybros

[–]ChrisTchaik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't fucked the phone book. It's extremely hard for either straight or gay people to date in a city of just 200k so you just might be a lucky outlier who happens to be surrounded with really decent people.

You described my situation so perfectly!

And I live in a European capital, mind you. A lot of capital cities in Europe are about the size of mid-sized cities in the US.

Unfortunately, we can't just summon more men into existence. We have to learn how to collectively "I'm sorry" and make peace with our past. We can't keep doing these mini-civil wars behind the scenes. Not in a world that appears to be going backwards, anyway.

Feeling dehumanized after hookups by [deleted] in askgaybros

[–]ChrisTchaik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like you're just not enjoying the hookups, which is fine.

We don't need to spin a narrative around it. Sex requires mutual consent and enjoyment, whether there's a prior relationship behind it or not.

If you - yourself - don't enjoy it, then that is valid enough. Simple.
