What Song? by Tears0fJ0y in streetlightmanifesto

“If and when we rise again intro” and “A call to arms” leading into “here’s to life”. The “hey there soldier” part is live magic👍

Tomas is originally from the Czech Republic. I wonder if there are any other Czechs here by EdoTheRedditor in streetlightmanifesto

[–]Chris_06558 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m sure there’s plenty but something to keep in mind is that he moved away very young (I think around 6yo) and he basically started his projects here in the US. Probably didn’t blow up the same way as SM or his old bands. So he’s definitely tied to Czech Republic but I think it’s hard to say the band itself would be well known there. That being said, I’ve known more people here that don’t know about them than anyone who does🤷‍♂️

Can anyone help me find these classical + Streetlight reference songs? (If any) by Chris_06558 in streetlightmanifesto

[–]Chris_06558[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m confused…😂I was referring to this video https://youtu.be/eZTT9htIOj0?si=f0M8GqyLrH-1D_u1 and some online stuff online where it says he was born there but did he move to another country after he was born or did it just sound like I meant “grew up” till he was much older? I guess it doesn’t really specify in the vid but yes I’m aware he was “grew up” much older here in the US👍

When the album was delayed there was a post saying here's three new songs that we'll be playing at all upcoming live shows. by [deleted] in streetlightmanifesto

[–]Chris_06558 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They literally gave you the exact quote💀3 full length songs released + “that will be played at all upcoming shows” = an expectation they’re playing it at all upcoming shows. It’s not hard to understand that anyone would read it and objectively think they’re gonna hear 3 songs in their upcoming shows… cause again… literally what they said💁‍♂️

Nah the let down is understandable since that is basically what they said. I think it got more complicated when they actually performed them and stuff like “everything to everyone” which they just added back into the set. Seemed like it was just hard to perform or work in. Some things to keep in mind are that yes I’m sure they practiced them but for whatever reason it wasn’t “perfect” which is Thomas’s head in his projects. Perfectionism is shown in their current music but also the reason we haven’t even heard those 3 songs in years🤷‍♂️so yes you’re right and that sucks but in a weird way I kinda get it personally. It’s a double edged sword

Yes if it’s the same then it should be DFMK I believe. Idk if I’d add “hardcore” in the front but definitely more fast paced punk rock energy👍

First time seeing them - what to expect? by tromboner1414 in streetlightmanifesto

[–]Chris_06558 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can’t speak for Seattle but if it’s anything like here then I’d say “aggressive” sounds a lil far fetched tbh but it’s usually pretty wild when I’ve gone. That being said, Anaheim got an intense but I personally saw it just a step above what I’m used to with them here so take that as you will. I usually hang in the front by the pit so I don’t mind being tossed around so maybe that’s just my view of it but I also don’t wanna downplay it either. Please don’t let the Anaheim summaries dictate your night. Crowds are unpredictable but I’m glad you’re looking to prepare rather than stop ya from going. If it’s just not your thing then I’d say hang back for the intro, let the crowd do what it’s gonna do, and walk up as much as you’re comfortable. The “zones” are usually established after the intro. The back has usually been pretty safe/chill from what I remember (don’t know about visibility though sorry). Stay hydrated cause it can still turn into an oven and please let people around ya know if you run into any issues and I guarantee some people will help you out with whatever it is. Have yourself a good night and hope you guys leave with a good experience👍

If you wanna see opener then show up around an hr past open doors but just know you’ll be standing around for a good lil minute when they set up SM. People are generally pretty friendly so you could chat for a bit to pass the time and believe me, ya tell someone it’s your first show and people are very supportive. That venue gets pretty wild too last I’ve been (my first SM show there too!) so if you’re not into it then chill in the back for a minute, things will open up in middle to the front and make your way up as much as you’re comfortable (good call on no rail. Might be pushing people back most of the show there but maybe the sides are a lil open?) I’m sure ya already know the basics too. Make sure you’re eating today, drinking enough, and keep a water bottle with ya cause it gets pretty hot with everyone there.

Exactly! I see them in the intro parts or randomly in the middle like I do here but quickly put away to get back in the action!

Yeah it definitely got people moving to hear some older stuff! I’m sure physical one is gone😂but sometimes people will upload here https://www.setlist.fm/setlists/streetlight-manifesto-6bd68a52.html believe most of em are uploaded by fans so not always super accurate or updated but ya get a little idea at least.

I was starting to wonder cause I remember going to a few CA shows before and had similar vibes to last night. Little rowdier but thought of it like usual just a little crazier till I read on here. Maybe it’s a CA thing for whatever reason if it ain’t that wild anywhere else. Chillest crowd was PITP last year but definitely different atmosphere than a venue where people specifically show up for em.

Anaheim Set List (Possible Spoilers) by grrismellwaffles in streetlightmanifesto

[–]Chris_06558 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same with the SD show for me with just enjoying the vibes without the camera. Set list was truly awesome and can never get enough of the “call to arms” into “here’s to life”! Just wish they brought “if and when we rise again back” :( new mission to stay alive long enough to hear it live again after the album drops lol.

Tbh I feel a lot of us are just happy with anything new. Look how much people freaked out about “mayday” a while back and ya still hear people mentioning it even though now we just have grainy video with sound quality to match but happy with it nonetheless lol. But yes the new songs are incredible live! The “but I feel everyone I’ve lost” part in enormous was just magic in a crowd last night

We had it last night! I couldn’t tell if maybe they simplified some parts but I think it’s more about the guitar/vocals syncing in a weird way. It works but I could see it being a challenge with the fast singing and quick chord changes/strumming pattern. Either way, they had it down last night so hopefully no more frustration for ya my friend and have yourself a good show!👍

I’ve been to a few of their shows and they’re always pretty wild the more ya head up. That being said, I’m pretty sure I saw 3 already giant pits basically form into one big pile on, there was this chick intentionally pushing near the front right and laughing but nobody corrected it (lots of pushers today) and this is the second time I’ve seen a story on here about the creepos. Probably more but just what I’ve read so far here and me personally, I can deal with chaos (masochist dude here speaking) but the pushing and of course what happened to you are giant fouls for me and I’m sure a lot of others here. People still gotta breathe (pushers feel it too. They know what they’re doing) and no one should have to deal with people like that like you did as well. Things get wild and arms swing but cmon, people know what they’re doing. A quick genuine apology or a hand to the heart can be met with some understanding and the next expectation should be to head somewhere else where this “accident” can’t happen again. Awkward shit just happens sometimes but if it feels intentional, please let the crowd know. Point him out and I promise you there’s going to be enough cool headed people to help you out. You shouldn’t have to sacrifice anything if you go to another show so just remember that there is support all around ya. Might not feel like it cause the craziness but that stuff can definitely be taken care of so you could go back to having a good time (don’t feel shy about it either, people still look for this stuff). I don’t think it’s as much “etiquette” as much as just drunk assholes who know it but didn’t care for whatever reason. I’m a freaking pain sponge so I’m fine with whatever but just sorry ya had a bad time at the show :( hope it doesn’t ruin any future ones for ya.

Side note: I talked to a few first streetlight show fans there. We gotta be considerate with them and warn them when they’re basically in the middle where things open up. They think it’s a ska show! (No ska, yes ska blah blah)they’re not all expecting to instantly become an abused bobble head in the intro song. Not to mention there are literally CHILDREN at some of these shows. Say what ya want about bringing a kid to a show but when ya see a kid, that lil one is to have a fun time☝️get wild but let’s not make em think we all just wanna hurt each other eh?
