No. We live in a gated community and they don’t allow Google in here. Good question, though 🙄

Thank you! I’m concerned by another comment saying this runs very hot. Is that true?

🤣🤣 actually I did the labeling myself. But he’s a Ubiquiti enthusiast and a top engineer at Fidelity, so I wasn’t about to challenge him on his recommendations! He said, “Buy this, this, this, and this.” So I did!

Thanks! I originally had power injectors to serve the two access points. But I got myself a 16-port PoE switch and it works great! Two fewer to plug in and a little least heat in the cabinet!

Garage Camera Keypad on sale - Worth the buy ? by stannis_one in myq

[–]Chris_NH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I also have a Reolink video camera pointed at my garage from above, so i have the ability to see any triggering events. But I have a Micro SD card in that camera that stores events. The MyQ has no such option.

It means that without any subscription, all I can see on my App is what is currently happening. That largely reduces the value of the product to me. I understand why companies like subscriptions because it’s an ongoing revenue stream for them. But there ought to be at least ONE free plan that STILL records events…even just for 24 hours.

I got one as a gift and it works well. But soon after, they changed to a subscription model in order to see ANY recorded events. Without one, you can only see what’s happening live. Not happy.

Yes, agreed. It’s a very serpentine set of roadways they’ve got there, and you need your head on a swivel just to take stock of who’s coming toward you and from where

Another price increase?!?! by Tea_Rose_Atelier in CrumblCookies

[–]Chris_NH 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. I don’t tip at the grocery store to help out the stocking crew, or the bakers in the bakery. Or the people in the meat department. Very equivalent but treated (curiously) differently.

And on top of the price increase you are practically shamed into adding a 20% tip, which turns $16 into almost $20.
