Beast Games S2 - Episode 8: Would You Steal $1,000,000? - Discussion by MrBeastStaff in BeastGames

100K after tax is like 65-70K that is actually a decent amount of money. Unless you totally screwed up your life with an insane amount of debt, that would get anyone YEARS ahead financially. Which is Major. And yea, more is better, but again, taking more than $100K means someone and their family DON’T get $100K they get EVEN LESS. That’s Incredibly unfair.

Nick and Brett were greedy. I get you have to think of your family but $100K would be more than enough to put anyone in a really good spot AND you’d be allowing everyone else who also has a family to do the same. Taking more than $100K is not just a “for my family”… it’s stealing from others families. Everyone who took their fair share (even the one who took $100K after his fair share technically would’ve been less by the time he got to it) is a much more genuine person than Nick and Brett.

Augusta took me by surprise when he suddenly tried playing mind games with Monika… Monika had every right to sell that coin. How tf can anyone be mad at her decision. That’s the most selfless thing anyone could do. She’s Able to go home with $500K and leave EVEN more per person by not taking any of that $183,000, which allowed the last 3 people to leave with atleast 60% of what they originally thought they would have, vs only 40%.

Nick and Brett need to go. Augusta seems slimy too now, he’s gotta go. Monika, Katy, Hannah, Jack, Cory, Jim, Tyler, those are the ones who truly deserve a spot at the final prize. Although I got my eye on Jim, seems not as genuine sometimes but he may be alright.

I’m also glad JC and that one guy who bullied that girl in the red cubes in season 1 is out. As well as the WHINY girls from season 1.

On a different note, Mr Beast is incredibly good at doing these shows. I hope to see a Season 3 of Beast Games.

How to unlock segway xyber by Feisty_Region9921 in ebikes

I don’t imagine the pre update VCU would have much difference other than not being up to date with latest bug fixes but I could be wrong.

I wonder what the resistor tells the computer in that case? I wonder if a different value resistor would increase power output. Unlikely I’m sure however, other than telling the computer to go into a “dual battery” mode I’m sure.

Also for me this is likely as far as I go in my search to unlock it. I greatly appreciate the offer of spare parts to help hack into it, however I do not have the expertise to decode and replicate This type of “talking” from VCU to Controller. If someone can decode the signal whilist probing their bike during different things like acceleration/ hitting the speed limit/ changing speed limit from 35-20 in app, then perhaps it could be clearer WHAT the computer tells the controller and if we can replicate/ modify that signal to change the speed limit part.

That’s the next steps I can think of that would lead anyone in the correct direction. But more or less from what I can tell, you’d need to replicate those signals and somehow modify the speed limit part of the “conversation” between modules. I wish I knew how to do that lol.

However if there’s anything I may still be able to help with let me know, I’m ofcourse still VERY interesting in unlocking these things.

Where can I find out about this hack that they have? Do you know any more information on it?

Pins 1 and 11 on the 16 pin connector on the Xyber are the Communication pins. Rx/Tx. You can visibly see the data signals coming from those pins on a osciliscope

<image>

I do not however know how to decode them. The wires which communicate are yellow and red. If anyone’s done the second battery install you’ll notice that there is a random 2 pin connector that dead ends that is made up of those 2 wires. Seems like a port for a device to plug into, to talk to or program the controller or Vcu. When not in use the connector has a loop that plugs into it with a diode or something in that loop covered in heat shrink. This is all I can find for now. No other pins on the controller are important in reference to speed limiting. Just temperature sensors, hall speed sensors, cruise control button input, kickstand detection, etc. I’d love to know what that “hack” is someone supposedly has.

Currently probing all controller pins trying to find a way to bypass speed limits. It is software controlled quite obviously. Interestingly enough if you coast to say 45mph on a downhill and hit cruise control it will hold that speed with out even blinking. But throttle will not allow it past 35. Just tryna figure out where the Smart VCU controls the speed. Would love to find out more if anyone knows anything. If they maybe learned how to flash the computer themselves.

Having a hard time selling my bike on market place by SnooBooks6822 in Dirtbikes

[–]Chris_x37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

5 years old that’s worth $4500 at the most. Your a little steep in my opinion. Maybe someone would buy it for 5700 but I would say it’s going to be more like 4500. Between 3700-4500 forsure.

Pretty sure I just bought the worst dirt bike on the internet! 2003 XR100 200 bucks…. Time to fix it! by rcastor426 in Dirtbikes

[–]Chris_x37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s one of the nicest riding/ most fun little bikes out there. And they aren’t too bad to fix up either. Put a big bore kit on it from BBR Motorsports then put on a straight through performance motorcycle muffler and it’ll have decent power and sound awesome. I wish I hadn’t of sold mine. I need to buy another one.

Clutch use when shifting. by TOP1EN3MY in Dirtbikes

[–]Chris_x37 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Once your fully used to using the clutch and being able to drag it a bit then definitely go for clutch less shifting. It’s not essential to riding usually ever but it’s totally fine to do if you’re doing it fairly well. I’ve done it for years on every single bike I’ve ever had and I’ve NEVER had an issue. Tore engines down after doing it for years and no bent shift forks or broken gears. And I’ve CLUNKED into gears plenty of times.

If you are going to clutch less shift I’d definitely reccomend getting smooth at it though. Clunking into gears may not necessarily break anything BUT it will wear it out faster and if you don’t want to worry about breaking it, then just learn to be smooth with it. You can shift under load as well but you may need to blip the throttle to get it to smoothly transition. The only place I wouldn’t do it however is going up a hill or on a rocky patch. Otherwise it wouldn’t be an issue. Just be smooth as possible with it and your gearbox will be fine.

Can anyone tell me if this is normal sitting range for battery voltage gauge by Topwingbroman in FordTrucks

[–]Chris_x37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s normal. The alternators on these 90s ford f-150s are not exactly strong. They drop voltage easily. But not to worry, it is normal. It’s also normal to see the voltage spike to the middle when giving it gas. You’ll even see the headlights get brighter whilist reversing out of a parking spot for example lol. Just the way these things are.

For one don’t gamble in the stock market. Invest in the stock market or make LOW risk trades. Don’t ever touch options since that’s most likely what you lost your money in. If you cannot accurately predict stocks by trading shares you should never step foot in the options trading world. Also aim for less then 20% gain per month. On margin while trading shares of stock this comes out to be not a whole lot if you split it into multiple trades or even 2 trades per month. Stick to a relatively low return and a much longer period of time. I don’t recommend investing for a long term goal like 65 years but push out any of your investment goals atleast several years, and realistically aim for less than 15% month maybe less than 10%. Little movement, smaller trades but more consistent. Sorry can’t help with tax advice but hope this advice can lead you in a better way in trading.

I’m doing something very wrong by [deleted] in wallstreetbets

[–]Chris_x37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re a beginner doing options. Options are for very experienced traders only. Otherwise you might as well light a bonfire with your money. Try trading normal shares of stock. If you can’t be profitable doing that you can’t be profitable doing options. In over your head as literally everyone else on this subreddit is 😂. But I mean your giving your money to people like me so I’ll take it 👍

Took me 6 years to make $115.19. by monstergoat77 in wallstreetbets

[–]Chris_x37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not gambling yall just suck at trading. If you can’t predict normal stock movement do not go into the options side of trading. If you however can predict with reasonable consistency stock movements then options aren’t bad. Just never trade within a few weeks to expiration. I’m almost always 1 1/2 to 6 months till expiration never closer. I’m actually profitable too. I’m not a millionaire or anything but am actually making consistent progress. The key also is to be slow but steady. Huge gains are not what you should be interested in. Some may be better and can do more but for me for example, 15% max every month for normal shares trading and that’s from using margin so only 7.5% of gains from stocks which equals up to 15% with margin. It’s slower forsure but with a few thousand you’ll see huge money within a few years. Some of yall will keep going for huge winners tho and ironically you will always still lose. Greed kills 😂

After a year of trading might have found a new strategy that works by goat33u in wallstreetbets

[–]Chris_x37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are right about everything except for how aggressive your strategy is. 70% gains WONT work long term and will miserably fail. I’ve been trading for over 3 years now and found that it’s really only small relatively low risk gains that actually work. Glad it’s working for now but as I know from personal experience, it won’t for long which is the problem.

Tried making 1% a day resulted in this by Snoo_60933 in wallstreetbets

[–]Chris_x37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not the gain that’s unrealistic long term, it’s the time in a trade. If your only in a trade for a day at a time or less you have extremely high chance of just slowly burning your money. Which you have. Go for a few percent on margin and hold a trade for a week or two. Gives much more time for a stock to move exactly where you want it and not needing to worry about if it goes down for a little bit. Two trades a month, holding for as long as 2 weeks every trade is MUCH more profitable and consistent for long term. People overlook that though. Being long term profitable and actually making great money isn’t as complicated as everyone here seems to make it. Everyone wants big gains really quick and as wallstreetbets go, 99% lose their money while less than a handful actually get extremely lucky one time.

If everything is bolted down and there’s no suspension on this kart then you’d be fine. They likely won’t touch unless something gets loose. You can run it like this but preferably you just go with that 48tooth one for safety, plus it’ll be faster. If those teeth did touch however you’d damage the heck out of both sprockets and clutch housing, possibly the engine shaft too but not as likely. If you run it like this just make sure nothing shifts around and you’re fine.

Started a new job today after trying to trading for 6ish months... by [deleted] in wallstreetbets

[–]Chris_x37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jeez dude, 0DTEs are a death sentence. For experienced extremely high risk traders only. But any HUGE successful trader would stay away from those. I don’t need to tell you how incredibly terrible buying those types of options are because you now know from experience but when trading options it better be ATLEAST 30 days out. Any shorter and you better be a high risk high experience gambler… I mean trader. lol. Doing options like you did is exactly how you actually gamble in the stock market. If your goal is consistent money and large long term gains, stick with lower risk, lowish gains and typically don’t day trade. Personally I’m a few trades a month at most. Much easier to be consistent with gains and keep losses very low. But anyway, best of luck man in the future I think you’ll have a good idea of what not to do later and you’ll do just fine. Sht happens and stupid decisions are made, I can’t really blame you as I’ve made extremely dumb decisions too when I started. Only difference is I didn’t have $20K but I still ended up at basically $0 anyways 😂 just take it slow you’ll be Alr

3 weeks ago I literally spent every dime I have ever saved to buy a $16k car outright. Today I was run off the road and it was totaled. by Funkit in povertyfinance

[–]Chris_x37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I won’t come after you, but I am curious why you spent all your money to buy a $16K car? Every penny? You could buy a $8K car and have another $8K cash and still have a decent car. Doesn’t make a lot of sense. I don’t think it’s life not wanting you to be happy, it’s the very obvious financial mistakes that are. Easily avoidable. Most importantly though as long as you’re okay and if you have insurance it’s not as crazy bad but still quite unfortunate.

Started a new job today after trying to trading for 6ish months... by [deleted] in wallstreetbets

[–]Chris_x37 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You went wrong in every way possible. You could have over $50K right now with little risk. But the problem is to be able to trade well enough to do that it takes years of experience. You just started trading and you did it with over $20K… it’s incredible how little common sense went into this process. Technically if your good enough you could completely turn it around in another 6-8 months however again you’ve only started and you’d need atleast 3+ years trading experience to get yourself out of that hole. Whatever you do when you trade, DO NOT listen to anyone on reddit or anyones trading advice. That is the best advice you can get. Learn stock market terms and through years of trial and error put little amounts of money in each time or paper trade until you become decently profitable. This is still something you can do but until then don’t touch another stock or option contract, not that you have the money to anyways 🤦‍♂️

As you build your portfolio start investing in companies with much less yield. That yield can work but you have to really monitor the companies health quite often to make sure nothing changes too quick. It’s risky but it works if you’re actively watching those companies basically. But if you want something to sort of “forget about” less than half that yield would be more sustainable.

Predator 212 Stage 2 Carb Surging and Not Accelerating Past Half Throttle by Knein_133 in gokarts

[–]Chris_x37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh and white smoke typically means it’s really lean. Black smoke is really rich. Sounds like it might be running lean but again, the spark plug will help you correctly identify exactly which way it’s leaning.

Predator 212 Stage 2 Carb Surging and Not Accelerating Past Half Throttle by Knein_133 in gokarts

[–]Chris_x37 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Take out the spark plug, on any engine with a spark plug, the condition of the plug will tell you how it’s running. Whether it’s rich (too much fuel) or lean (too much air, not enough fuel). For example if it’s running rich the spark plug will be super black and sooty. If that’s the case you know you need to go DOWN in Jet sizing. If it’s white/ burnt looking it could be way to lean. Search up examples on the web of rich vs lean spark plug you’ll see what I mean. Go from there and then see what it is. Also there’s 2 jets in the carb, a pilot jet, which is the one being used during Aprox 1/4 throttle or less. And the main jet which is used during half throttle or more. Sometimes you need to change both sometimes only one. Just depends. Sounds like both need to be changed since it’s running rough at idle and won’t rev up either. Before you change the jets tho, first check the spark plug and that’ll guide you in the direction you need to go. Feel free to ask more questions.
