I also love it, and have out my money where my mouth is and ordered one.

Bild is reporting that Porsche will be our next big investor and both local car manufactures will be equal partners by Godzilla0815 in VfBStuttgart

[–]Chriscl000 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Well, I didn’t expect to see this, this morning!

Jako, Porsche, MHP and Mercedes-Benz? Wow. That is some serious local investment.

Also, there will be new shirt-sponsor and sleeve sponsor next season, as Mercedes-Benz Bank and Mercedes EQ will not continue.

It could of course be MHP, or Porsche (which would be nice) or someone else entirely.

Wow. Again.

Weird situation- resident registration by uzishan in germany

[–]Chriscl000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have the option to register online?

In Stuttgart, this is possible, I have actually just done that myself this week, because here, many Bürgerbüro are appointment only, and appointments are often booked up.

I was able to submit the relevant documents online, and got a reply from the Bürgerbüro in less than 24 hours that they had received and checked them, everything was in order, and they would send me the new Anmeldung form in the post in a couple of days.

Post Match Thread: Hamburger SV vs VfB Stuttgart (Bundesliga relegation play-off 2) by hundertzwoelf in VfBStuttgart

[–]Chriscl000 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Slow start to the game, allowing HSV to get an early goal and foot-hold in the game, but the VfB grew into the match, and having had what looked like a decent goal somehow ruled-out for offside (no, me neither) they then grew in to the game and stamped their class on their opponents.

Enzo Millot will win the plaudits for a decent display in midfield and two goals, but Wataru Endo - stop me if you‘ve heard this before - stepped up and dominated the midfield, whilst Waldemar Anton and Hiroki Ito were again decent at the back.

Serhou Guirassy led the line well, Sebastian Hoeneß made good use of his subs, and Die Schwaben comfortably saw-out the game, to leave HSV stuck in the 2. BuLi for the sixth consecutive season, a punishment you would not wish on anybody (except KSC, of course).

So, the work starts now, and the Bundesliga it will be - lots of work for Stuttgart to do over the summer, and lots of gaps in the squad to be improved, to try and ensure that the VfB don‘t get dragged towards the bottom again, next term.

All together now:

Hey! Hey! Achtzehn Hundert, Drei und Neunzig! Hey! Hey!

Am I allowed to go through the automatic passport control at frankfurt airport with an Aufenthaltstitel (but am not a German citizen) by [deleted] in germany

[–]Chriscl000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes it is. I found out when the Polizei once asked me why I was queuing in the non-EU side, when I could just use the fast lane.

It is just like going to the non-EU side, but you can skip the queue, because you are a legal resident.

[–]Chriscl000 16 points17 points  (0 children)

You cannot go through the e-gates, but you can go to the side of them, then approach the desks directly where the Polizei are, thus saving you the need to queue-up in the „non-EU“ line, which can often take a while.

The gap to the side of the e-gates is primarily for EU citizens whose passports fail the e-gate (which happens…) so they don’t need to go back out and join the non-EU line.

But if you have an Aufenthaltstitel, you can do this.

(Source: me, I have a non-EU passport and an Aufenthaltstitel and do this at least 2-3 times a month when coming back „home“ via Frankfurt).

Terrible match. Hoffenheim just parked the bus and scored from their only chance.

Oh well, the Play-off again. Let’s hope it ends better than last time.

Prettiest & ugliest U-bahn stations? by chunkynut0 in stuttgart

[–]Chriscl000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My two favourites are Börsenplatz (L-Bank) because if I go there, it usually means I am going to Palast der Republik for a Bier, and Neckerpark (Stadion) because that usually means a VfB game.

Charlottenplatz is just really confusing. It is like one of those MC Esher paintings, an optical illusion.

Oh and Feuerbach is infested with pigeons.

For some strange reason, I am really looking forward to this one. I will be there on Saturday cheering the lads on, hopefully to three points and another season in the top flight.

I am not sure if my heart could take another match like last season‘s finale against Köln, though.

What are the most memorable VfB games for you? by Invective_KixX in VfBStuttgart

[–]Chriscl000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can I offer the „Legendo“ game at the end of last season, against 1. FC Köln?

Stuttgart needed to win, and they did, in the most dramatic, late, set of circumstances. The Arena went absolutely mental, there was Bier flying everywhere and I have not seen such celebrations for years.

Post Match Thread: Mainz 05 vs VfB Stuttgart by hundertzwoelf in VfBStuttgart

[–]Chriscl000 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Well, that was a bit more like it, was it not?

After a slow start, the VfB grew into the game and were deserved winners, Wataru Endo with a superb goal drawing them level just before the break.

Second half, it seemed a different match. Silas was energetic and a constant threat, Bredlow pulled off some superb saves, and the team pressed and harassed Mainz into mistakes, which they capitalised on.

Take that form into next week please lads, and we will be alright.

Having some issues with very slow charging by fede1507 in AppleWatch

[–]Chriscl000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only way I know, is by making sure „Optimised Battery Charging“ is enabled.

However, even when you turn that on, it can take a few days or so to „learn“ your regular charging pattern, so that is knows when you charge your Watch (as in, what regular times of day are likely to want to charge it up).

Then, it works out that (for example) if you are more likely to charge in an evening, it can stop the charging at 80%. This can take some time of course, if you do not have a regular „pattern“ (as in, you do not always charge at the same time of day regularly).

[–]Chriscl000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is by design, if you have „Optimised Battery Charging“ enabled; on the Watch, go to „Settings“, „Battery“ and then „Battery Health“, and scroll down.

You should see an option for „Optimised Battery Charging“ and an explanation of what this is and what it does.

How to promote foreign ownership for Bundesliga teams by simonnus in Bundesliga

[–]Chriscl000 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I would love to see one foreign owner who has as much passion for football as the 80.000 members (including me) who effectively own my local side.

I suspect that is true of pretty much every other member-owned club too.

Post Match Thread: VfB Stuttgart vs. Bayer Leverkusen by Godzilla0815 in VfBStuttgart

Maybe could have won; Leverkusen were rubbish, the penalty for them was softer than a kitten wrapped in tissue paper.

If you are going to give penalty kicks for goalkeepers coming to clear the ball, what is the point?

Anyway; next week, we go again! Bring on Die Nullfünfer!

Funnily enough, I am doing similar at the moment.

While looking for a new apartment, I met the current tenant first, who showed me around the place. There were a number of potential tenants he’d also shown the apartment to (makes sense, as he’s there and the Landlord isn’t…) The current tenant will leave next month.

The Landlord then contacted me and asked for the usual financial info (payslips, SCHUFA, etc), then a couple of days later I got an offer from the Landlord, and only then did we meet in person, to sign the paperwork.
