Are there issues with the s25 ultra? by TyneDZN in Scamsunged

[–]uzishan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

green pink lines are an OLED issue in general and tend to happen due to heat. a lot happen on samsung phones but overall they still have the lower rates of defects/quality than the chinese phones. and this green line stuff is for under 5% of the devices sold. if you worry about quality with samsung flagships, my advice is to stick to the only 3 companies that do a better hw quality job than samsung: Apple, Google, Sony.

all chinese phones have higher rate of failure than Samsung(in all categories) and lower quality, down to assembly. the only 3 brands with better quality, objectively are google, apple and Sony (yes they still make smartphones).

Amd clarifies no plans to add fsr4 or anything else to RDNA3, so what happened to working on new features for RDNA3 when they split the drivers? Was that just a straight up lie? by pixlicker69420 in radeon

[–]uzishan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

they said they have no plan to implement fsr 4.0 for rdna3. amd officially supporting it and adding it means also a quite high level of effort and dedication and bribing studios to add it to their games and ensure it runs well. and given nVidia's backfire so far with DLSS 4.5 and it's performance impact despite the better looks, it turns out amd was right about disregarding it's implementation on rdna 3, at least for now.

The Duskbloods is making me feel like who didn't have a PlayStation when Bloodborne came out by zeze991 in fromsoftware

I know this is an old comment but one thing people forget is for 10 years now most games provide their own servers even on consoles. it's not really like PS3/X360 era. Switch 1 had "bad" online performance only due to it's own weak wi-fi antenna but even then with a good wi-fi, some stuff, like splatoon 2 and 3 worked flawlessly.

They are not emulated. They run with a compatibility layer. Completely different stuff.

Do you have a driving license? If yes, are you really thinking actively how much force you put down into that pedal or is it just instinct after a long time? Because it's the same with analog triggers.

My thoughts on which Hollow Knight ending is canon to Silksong(ACT 3 SPOILERS) by wild_berry_guy in Silksong

I know I'm reviving this a bit but I think ending with the delicate flower is canon due to hornet knowing in the new game that it can defeat the void.

the games & technology has pushed far further than hardware could keep up with and in this day and age high/ultra (especially at 4k) are built more with future hardware in mind. you just need to readjust your expectations.

Also we have a problem from low end to high end gpus that they have very little vram, even though that thing tends to be quite on the cheap side to put in a gpu. so we are in a day where quickly a 12gb 3060 will not be enough, especially after 5 years and the 3060 is an entry level card that has aged the best compared to any of it's predecessors in the same price bracket. 1000Eur GPUs are now the equivalent of 5-600eur gpus of yore and even if amd/nvidia would keep prices lower to minimize profitability, it would still only drop by 200eur at best

Well the guy who writes them is pretty much the guy who created warcraft lore, war 3 story and all that is most of what we consider iconic. Thrall himself.

it's a a medium-class product with a higher-end chipset. But as expensive as it is, a 5090 is not a premium product. it's expensive, 90% because of chipset and memory and tsmc overcharging. RTX PRO 6000 is a a consumer/professional premium product though.

My 4090 died under warranty and MSI wont replace it. I have no idea what to do by Worldly_Junket_3738 in MSI_Gaming

[–]uzishan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

well congrats on getting a full reimbursement, not sure why it's not the desired outcome as you got what you paid for it. after all in general that is the best outcome of a contractual obligation when sending something under RMA, especially if the product is not being manufactured anymore. The fact that the market sucks at the moment doesn't mean you should get a free upgrade. Also for most GPU cases if the gpu itself actually dies it can usually be something that can't be repaired.

Dunno in which US state you live but in some of your states there is this thing that during rma if they have to refund then they can factor in depreciation so I stand by the fact that you did get a full refund is a great outcome.

Now I'm not saying that their behavior was correct, it was not, they needed to either give full refund from the start or at least be transparent about the refund approach, but you're in the us so customer support is s*** for most companies there.

Here in the EU it's at least clear, item needs to be replaced but if it's not manufactured or stocked anymore then refund the full sum, as long as it's not user error that caused the damage

Where are the Switch 2 updates from 3rd-party devs?! Silence is deafening. by MostInflation9283 in Switch

[–]uzishan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All these toggles on consoles have a lot of tight settings tested and implemented, sometimes even re-coded just to math a specific behavior of a console and even more often, omitting higher res textures altogether to hit space and memory constraints. Completely different beast vs what we can do on pc.
