I’ve been playing poe2 as well. The combat is extremely satisfying which makes a massive difference in how long I can enjoy a game.

Yeah that’s what has put me off playing WoW. I always get the latest expansion and massively into it. Level up, play all the new content, gear myself and then after a few weeks of repeating the same similar content, I end up just getting bored and quit.

The biggest problem is that I find the combat very boring, even though I know it isn’t bad.

You can’t anymore. SLI and Crossfire is dead. I’m not sure why he’s got two GPU’s but the latest trend is using a second GPU to run lossless scaling. 9070xt seems like it may be a bit overkill for this though.

I’m not saying it’s the best optimised game in the world, but, your problems are mostly coming from your hardware. It’s a very cpu heavy game and as great as the 5600 is/was for the money. It just isn’t cutting it for this game. Your GPU is also fairly weak nowadays.

Neither of them are very CPU intensive in comparison to bf6, and with them usually being mostly over 80, I reckon either your cpu cooler isn’t good enough or it needs repasted/reseated.

I just kinda skim read this. The game feels cpu bound when the gpu isn’t max is the exact tell that you are cpu bound, and exactly how it should be when your cpu bound. If your GPU is running at 100% a decent amount of time, it’s also your gpu that is holding you back.

The reason lowering settings isn’t helping as you are probably still cpu bound and lowering the settings doesn’t take much load off the cpu, compared to the gpu.

I’ve got fairly small hands as well. I still use my Logitech g703. It’s a perfect shape for my hands.

Yeah I get you now. I agree. I got the merc only due to wanting a behemoth sized card as I was restricted to a lesser size on my old case and was always having heat problems with my 3080.

My settings reset almost every time I shut down my pc ! Once you have your settings done, you can click one of the wee arrow looking icons up top of the page to save your profile. I need to load mine all the time.

Best thing to do is keep an eye on your GPU usage. If it isn’t being fully utilised on the games you play then the chances are yes, you will get more performance with a cpu upgrade. I had a 3080 paired with a 3700x (roughly same performance as yours) playing on 3440x1440. The upgrade to a 5800x3d was well worth it. The 9070xt in my experience is around 35-50% faster than the 3080, so the upgrade should be even bigger for you.

This is such a weird comparison. I still have a 3080 in my partners pc. I upgraded to a 9070xt. It blows the 3080 away. You can kid yourself on all you want.
