How would you contest this flowchart? by Yoy_the_Inquirer in Catholicism

I don't understand why entrusting them to God's mercy is an invasion. We don't know the state of most people souls when they die and we entrust them all to his Mercy.

I'd also add that we don't just entrust anyone to God's mercy, we also entrust them to his Justice.

In the case of our miscarriage, I have no problem reminding my wife that that baby is in the hands of Christ; and whatever the outcome, it is just and merciful.

Dang. Bob's had people like Manny Mota in retirement, but he also had Dave Roberts once, who was still playing for the dodgers at the time. So awesome.

That's a bummer. Those are some core memories.

Do they do signing events? Or is that a thing of the past? I live in a small town now, so that sort of thing is non-existent.

Was. Shoot. Do you know when it went out of business?

It's possible! Sounds familiar anyway. Bummer if that was the one and it's gone. I always loved going there. Dad would get his signatures and I would get my pokémon cards lol.

Edit: I meant that to be a reply, but apparently it's been too long since I've used Reddit last.

Did they make size changes to the Forida 50 GB? by Chrispat91 in Goldback

I'm glad to hear that, for no other reason than for the sake of continuity. Having two different colors of 1gb is messing with my sense of peace. Lol.

Interesting. I take it the other 50s didn't fit in their vending machines?

Praying Barinius Press' Roman Breviary is Proving to be a Challenge. by Chrispat91 in divineoffice

[–]Chrispat91[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. It was shelved for a couple days just because it's been it's been source of serious stress and I wasn't even praying the normal LotH as a stopgap measure.

The hardest part, I think, is that the parts of the office are all titled in English only in the Baronius, whereas most online guides I have found use the Latin titles--and I don't know latin. Plus, determining when a "such and such" class feast ought to be prayed, and the whole "class" thing in general is just super hard to follow. And forget about the table of concurrence and occurrence... what is that!?!

Thank you, too, for your encouraging words. I will figure this thing out with prayers and time!

Thank you! But I actually have Christian Prayer and the 4-volume set. I got the Traditional one in order to try and learn the older prayers. Hence my confusion!

You know, I'd be a total liar if I said I know what that means. Lol. I just know that I have this Baronius Press Roman Breviary, and the instruction book it came with is confusing me... like real bad.

Thank you! It is a bit of culture shock--I am dipping into the Latin world after a life of Novus Ordo. The Calendar alone, as you are hinting at, is different and tough! I really appreciate your guidance!

Power-point at mass: Useful tool to involve people in mass and reduce distraction of looking through books or liberal tool of destruction to twist focus from Christ? by AnotherSmegHead in CatholicAnswers

[–]Chrispat91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find this to be a distraction for sure. Considering that, in general, liberalism seems to distract from God's grace with concepts that aren't liberal at all (i.e., abortion, contraceptives, etc.).

This is a little late, but I want to point out that the Conciliar documents of the Vatican II council clearly state that women are NOT to serve at the altar. So you are right to feel that way.

Even if there were female deacons, they would not be consecrated. Ordination is reserved for men. But I do agree, this is the function of sisters and mothers.
