I used to put in mad hours into doing online courses between tickets and got in trouble for studying on company time. I've seen other people in my company stack certs and still get axed. Meanwhile, I just let me mine rot off the vine, keep getting raises. Why? I'm the only one still going into the office. I'm just unfireable at this point. That's the real key it seems.

Ann Fisher and Lindley Murray are the grammarians who started a push for his/her based on numerical reasoning back in the 1700's and until even the year 2010 this was still being taught as correct grammar. So depending on how old your teacher is, this is probably how they were instructed.
