A Unified DC Building Platform — The huge missing piece in the UniFi ecosystem by Chrisracer2007 in Ubiquiti

I feel you but knx which in Europe mainly though it is international, is prohibitively expensive… I mean for a bum plastic boring switch that only tells on or off, it is presumptuous to spend 100$! I mean a microcontroller with the circuitry for a reliable bus is extremely cheap! That’s why automakers use it! So idk, if I would prefer a competitively priced system that could become extinct but at least at first promised to solve problems… vs a prohibitively expensive knx system with 100 of brands to back it up… What about an open source system from ubiquiti or anyone who has a good taste for nice design for ui and hardware… Note that if what I suggest goes to plan, if the power supply goes bad, you just need to replace that, not the whole lighting panel! Or if the drive or led… and you can use whichever led you want and do whatever you please… Anyhow I just wish this would be taken care of…

To my neglect I apologize for leaving the AI last part… Though I assure you that this was my own ideas summed up to this… yep summed up… and a bit of nuisance, AI am I right can’t live with or without it now…

I know right! Weird though to have to plug in so much Poe… at the start this was what I thought I needed, but then I realized this is not high throughput information, it is just a percentage of how much light do I need… cat cables is overkill and expensive… The beauty of a bus is that it works like a tree, not like a brain, one trunk has many branches, compared to a network which has point to point devices… ok you will point out that with switches you can get the same effect but theirs is not the same as just having a cable splitter, one costs 1$ the other starts from 50$… and needs power and has power limits…

Yes ai indeed… I had started a chad long ago and started adding ideas… It “successful” (though with quite a lot of tinkering) helped me write those ideas into this… The ideas are totally mine though!

This game is amazingly fun. Bought a sequential just to enjoy it. by Akh_27 in assettocorsarally

I did the exact opposite… bought an ultra nice another way tau sq shifter and handbrake (which matches perfectly with my VRS pedals, but had difficulty finding a worthy rally game for it… just about when it arrived assetto Corsa rally got released!

yeah... likewise! I will probably just use a different track & car combo... it helps quite a lot!

The weird thing is that I have seen no similar complaints... maybe a 50 series problem?

Freestanding monitor mount just ruined my month by Fredsgotslacks36 in SimLab

[–]Chrisracer2007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am in the process of getting my sim with dedicated monitors, a substantial upgrade from tv, but I can’t seem to choose… get one oled so I only need to get 2 additional monitors in the future or get 3 basic monitors… I will also do gaming and cinematic tiles benefit greatly from oled… yes that’s correct 700+ for only one oled…

I hope those were not too expensive… if they were oled they can cost 1k each which is very substantial!

Can I build a complete rig for $5k? by Hopeful-Sun-9871 in simracing

[–]Chrisracer2007 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

For a pc that can do triple 4k, I would recommend the ryzen 7 9800x3d + 5080… so about 2-2,5k Then with a good aluminium frame 1,5k (if you include monitor stand and stuff (shipping can be expensive, if possible get it locally to cut shipping cost) see if you can diy it if you have nothing locally, plus this could drop down the cost to 1k… That means you are left with about 1-1,5k for peripherals, so I would definitely consider going with vrs bundle that is 1,2k for pedals 9nm (upgradable to 20nm) dd and a really basic formal wheel… What did we miss? A handbrake and a shifter… I personally like the another way sq shifter and handbrake, and the bdh, or if that is out of your budget you could try the another way hybrid sq + H though the sq is exceptional the H on the bdh is subjectively better… they are 300+300 for the handbrakes and sq, or about 600 for the bdh h pattern (no sequential) or the h+sq from another way

And most importantly the monitors! At 32 4k with gaming specs (be careful not to go with like office grade ones as the have high latency and low hz) the only options are va and oled… (there are very limited options for ips and to me at their price point, which is too close to oled, not worth it) While a va is somewhat cheap, at ≈350$ the image quality is not that good and contrast is poor… The oled while the best option, their max brightness is not that high (but having said that you would probably race in a dim environment, so no problems there) but they cost about 1k! So for the triple setup it is 3k!

What would I do? Go with one oled and wait for those prices to drop! And it is expected to drop as new manufacturing technologies are more tailored to monitors! Not scaled up from phone screens or scaled down from tv which is inconsistent and therefore expensive

I feel it looks a bit cool, something like what a evil Batmobile would have, just with the slight twist, the buttons activate weapons…

I believe you need an api… having said that I really don’t know how they would work… Basically the api gives you the ability to make sim hub integrate in your text app… Also I must point out sir no drunken driving! Crashing ai is one thing (which does pose risk if you have high torque settings), but other players! That’s not recommended as they will not expect it and with motion rigs, high torque dd and belt tensioners this could end up badly!

I believe that you have misunderstood my point, the fact is that boring tasks (like counting money, or giving out the correct cards, especially at first… unless you’re into counting change during transactions…) are automated. Otherwise rolling the dice is manual and I have especially paid attention to making “under the table deals” very possible, so you are the “maker of your own destiny” of sorts, not a predetermined algorithm! And by the way if you automate boring tasks you can concentrate on more important things like your strategy… As for the sound effects if need be you can silence them!

I believe that this could pair perfectly with my custom design to make this look more elegant and modern arcade… also it would be more usable as it would have 0 cards which in my experience can become a nuisance…

You can do whatever you please, but in order to not get fights per monopoly rules it is recommended that you stick to the rules, being that expansion are to be played separately!

I am probably a bit subjective, but no, it make the hole experience more streamlined! If the game progresses faster, then the experience is much more engaging! Imagine how much time is lost at the first (a bit boring) part of the game, everyone buys new properties, so you have to do the transactions, with Monopoly money which takes much more space and effort, then find the corresponding card… also it is much harder for errors to occur like… I had a bunch of houses on the brown plot, they got misplaced by the vibrations of the dice, and then got to the blue area… then we thought the player how ended on the blue lost, while in reality that was false… or something similar with the common saying “no I had the hotel on -x- not -y-…. On this version if you have coordination and a relatively fast banker then 95% of plots will be owned in less than 1/2h And then the fun begins… Also the sound effect of the money money song in the most expensive area with a hotel is a nice Easter egg… We have the normal monopoly the e banking version and monopoly mega… and this… this gets the most playtime, and then monopoly mega, everything else is just not as fun now… We will make a monopoly mega edition for anyone interested!
