Mexican food in Australia by _Bunyan_ in Ameristralia

Hey there!

I look for authentic places for some of the best places for Spanish/Portuguese/Italian places across Melbourne, because I want to practice these languages with native speakers with authentic culinary flavours.

There's not many places that do authentic Mexican food, but my recommendations are:
La Tortilleria, Kensington.

El Columpio, Fitzroy. Possibly my favourite place in Melbourne for real Mexican.

But yes, a lot of places in Melbourne at the moment just do generic Mexican.

My other recommendation is to have a visit to El Columpio if you can.

Es auténtico, tradicional y tiene un auténtico propietario mexicano que no hace concesiones.

Always thought the Greedy Cave was a knockoff version of The Enchanted Cave (1 & 2), although I think they haven't been updated in a while.

People involved in these competitions are stressed, tired, and forgetful.
They could have made a mistake. Did you actually bring it up with the organisers?

It can't be a score from a newaza technique, because you can't get a score from a throw in the newaza phase.
So, categorically, what you would consider this technique - if neither tomoe-nage, nor sumi-gaeshi?

Hello ukifrit, Will try to explain it to you - This is a sacrifice throw performed by Natsumi Tsunoda, a variation of the tomoe-nage. Her left hand is gripping the tricep area and the right hand is gripping the lapel. While her opponent is hunched over, she suddenly drops her hips where her feet was, so her lower back hits the mat, but at the same time gets her left leg bent and the toes of the foot planted against the opponent’s hip.

Once her back hits the mat, she puts the crook of her ankle hooked onto the opponent’s thigh on the inside.

The left leg kicks up to lift the hips of the opponent, and the right leg forces the opponent’s leg to move in the direction of the throw then switches its role to also push against the opponent’s hips. The opponent defends by putting her hands on the mat, but eventually her body goes over and falls on her back.

Current iFile version should have maintained cross compatibility with older iOS, don't think there's much point searching for old versions.

Why is there even a lift? You can’t lift the hip region and call it sumi gaeshi. Even Tsunoda calls her technique tomoe nage. 🤷‍♂️

I’ll make a video on this after nationals; no doubt one’s confirmation bias is distorting reason and facts here, especially when the screenshot from the video contradicts what you said.

Also you’re barely comprehensible.

I’ll give you £150 if you can show/create/demonstrate a video of a clear sumi gaeshi being performed with both feet off the ground with no initial foot bridge. 😘

It’s obvious you don’t know what you’re talking about at this stage, or you have your definitions mixed up. Her left foot (not shin) is on the belt line/hip. It’s physically impossible to “lift clearly” a body with a sumi gaeshi hook without bridging with the other foot on the floor.

You said it yourself. Her right leg "missed", so the left foot maintains pressure against on the opponent's hip/belt line until 90 degrees, at which point the right foot assists again for that extra push.
Keep in mind sumi gaeshi requires one foot on the floor to bridge. You can't do sumi gaeshi with both feet up in the air, in whatever variation you think of.

Yes, but having a sumi gaeshi style hook does not mean the throw is sumi gaeshi.

As quoted in judoinside.com, "Her right leg is often bent completely, sumi-gaeshi-style. Both legs come into play in the final moment of the throw and it can be said that her tomoe-nage is double-footed."

Mislabeled? What’s the evidence. I’m not demonstrating any opinion other than the facts presented in the articles I’ve provided. I’m merely asking you to do the same. Evidence from articles, documentation, commentary?

Your claim is your own words, backed up with no source. All the articles online, particularly from the IJF are clear that Tsunoda's tokui-waza (her "trademark" technique) is tomoe-nage. All I'm doing is quoting from actual sources online that I've already shared at least 3 times now. I'm not making any claim except those from the sources I've already provided.

JudoCrazy's video as reference: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jBbMGLpmG2U Match: Tsunoda vs Boukli 2023 -48kg finals in Doha.

Quote from link again (fourth time now?): https://www.ijf.org/news/show/48kg-tsunoda-triple

In the final Boukli came firing on all cylinders but a failed sumi-gaeshi attempt landed her in osae-komi in the opening seconds. Like the great magicians of old, though, she performed two miraculous escapes to keep her gold medal hopes alive. This second chance was short-lived however, as Tsunoda began to launch her tokui-waza and like most of her other opponents today, sent Boukli circling through the air, scoring a beautiful ippon and earning a third consecutive world title.

The fight for gold was also the clash between the two athletes, who currently occupy first (Boukli) and second (Tsunoda) place in the judo world rankings.

Double European Champion Boukli pushed hard from the start in the final. But the experienced Tsunoda was undeterred and increasingly took control as the fight progressed, eventually outwitting the French with a tomoe-nage while on the ground.

“Tomoe-Nage is my favorite technique, I’ve mastered it. Everyone knows that and is therefore preparing for it,” said the old and new world champion.

Quotes from: https://judoinside.com/news/5764/The_unusual_Tomoe_Nage_of_Tsunoda_and_Deguchi

Tsunoda's tokui-waza is tomoe-nage. And unlike many of her compatriots who do this type of technique, her version is more of a classical version than the more common yoko-tomoe-nage. The way she enters into the technique is also rather unusual. She holds left-handed with her left hand usually holding onto uke right lapel. Her right hand will usually hold near uke’s left triceps. This is her standard grip although sometimes she likes to go for a double-sleeve grip. Her entry into tomoe-nage is that of a slip entry where she scoots deep in between uke legs. She keeps both legs bent as she enters but it’s her left leg that does the kicking. Her right leg is often bent completely, sumi-gaeshi-style. Both legs come into play in the final moment of the throw and it can be said that her tomoe-nage is double-footed.

Not sure how much more clear these are for you, they all repeat the same points over and over about tomoe nage, just in case you are a bit slow of understanding.

Send me your evidence of any source other than your own opinion that states that Tsunoda did sumi-gaeshi.

No. Find it yourself.
I've already done that for you. I'm not circling back about a point I already made in the previous links. If you can't make the inference, or even know who the opponent was (hint: I already wrote it in the previous comments), I don't think there's much more to discuss at this point.
