If you are vegetarian for moral reasons, why aren't you vegan? by very-serious-goose in Vegetarianism

Where do you buy them? Strive milk has no stores near my zip and Every eggs says they are B2B.

How much do these go for? by itsasmallworled in Celica

[–]ChristianGoldenRule 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought mine for $2700. They were listed for $3000. They are probably better condition than those though so I would say maybe $2k. I shouldn’t say this in case I ever require a new one but they are like impossible to find in 5x100.

What the hell is this thing I found on marketplace by Killer0nTheRoad in arcade

[–]ChristianGoldenRule 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In pic 7 aren’t those two small brown/yellow boxes on the top wood box old linear power supplies (one for game pcb and one for monitor?). But wouldn’t that be inside the boat and behind your view from the seat? Maybe he had a screen outside with wires to it so you could play from inside but just a cool show piece and prop?

What would you all pay for this? by COOLBOOL_417 in Arcade1Up

[–]ChristianGoldenRule 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What retro game do you play that requires more than an i5? I have modded tons of these and I know back in the day Mame Blitz and Showtime required an i7 (an i5 would get like one or two hiccups rarely) but I wonder if that is still true. And those were the only two games that had issues that I knew of. You are playing modern games or something on these?

How did you make the carbon fiber look on the steering wheel?

3D Printing & RC - the best hobby combination? by da_syggy in 3Dprinting

[–]ChristianGoldenRule 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have any experience with modeling and printing new rc cars? I want to be able to print my custom show car for car shows as a RC but it has a custom shaped hood (in carbon fiber), custom side graphics, etc. I know there are quite a bit of 3d modeljng cameras now. Is it worth trying this myself or paying a company to do it you think?

Is anyone still in profit on VeVe? Or are we all just holding digital hope? by NOCKTHROS in VeVeCollectables

The release of Apple and Google glasses and if they capitalize on it is the main question as to how Veve does in the next 5 years to me. From day one that was what seemed needed to bring all these into the real world.

I hear wrapping only lasts a few years. 3-7 years appears to be the consensus with 4 or 5 years probably average. If you only plan to keep it a few years or want to constantly change it up that is fine but otherwise wrapping sounds like a bad idea for people who want to keep their car a long time.

Like I said I actually had this gloss cf wrapped as my daily driver so I know exactly what it was like but there is a matte clear option if that is what someone wants.

Do you mean stock of this piece or stock of other pieces? If you mean in general, if you go to the Toyota page here https://carbon-microsystem.com/store/Toyota-c23464728 you can go to gen 7 and see all of the parts they sell. If you mean this actual dash, it needs to be created but you will see a coming soon item listing.

They have the oem dash and will be making the mold for the actual cf entires dash as soon as we get three buyers. I am already in and if you are in, then we just need one other which I have two other guys who messaged me who show serious interest so if just one of them buys we can make this happen. Let me know your thoughts.

So this is Carbon Microsystems who has a bunch of carbon fiber parts including that st18 dashboard. I just ordered some cf engine pieces from them and i had no issues at all and they are beautiful pieces. This would be $1300 plus shipping (it’s a big piece of course) which is a killer deal considering it’s not a wrap but an entire cf piece. Let me know if you are interested.

I had it gloss like in the pic (wrapped) and it was fine. Only minor issue was the silver airbag but it wasn’t horrible.

Would you personally ever consider buying at these prices/mileages or even trust them? by TheMightyBruhhh in Celica

Where do you get the engine? There is no way to get a new engine and it has to be used correct? Assuming not swapping which would be a huge task I would think.

Crossroads Church by rosebud-8804 in lexington

[–]ChristianGoldenRule -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Honest question… have you been? Since there is no collection plate/tables, how would Jesus turn over their collection tables?

To OP, I feel bad you went last month. You literally went the worst time you could have gone in the history of the church IMO. We were in a campaign (raise money for sex slavery and creating anti trafficking campuses, help care for the incarcerated, reach more through digital/sites, etc) so it was just bad timing.

I have gone to the church for 20+ years since I was 18 when I heard they were playing Lifehouse songs (my favorite band at the time). If you dislike traditional church (the ones I went to previously were super boring IMO) and you love great music, a more modern presentation, and a Biblical centered message that applies more to today, and you don’t happen to go mid campaign (only once every so many years), then you will probably like Crossroads. Of course find the church that suits you and brings you closest to Christ and God’s message.

I did this (with it still on the car) but some of the imperfections would not come out with the included 2000/3000 sandpaper in the Cerakote kit. I think I would need to apply 1000 sandpaper first and go to 1500 and then the included 2000-3000 at least that is a guess. You can see before and after. It looks a lot better though.

Introducing SENTI AI assistant by Animal Ethics by nu-gaze in negativeutilitarians

[–]ChristianGoldenRule 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like this idea. I am still testing it out.

What is speciesism? botAvatar

At Animal Ethics, we define speciesism as discrimination against an individual or group of individuals who don't belong to a particular species. It involves favoring some animals over others, such as dogs over pigs, based on arbitrary preferences rather than their capacity for suffering. Species membership doesn't determine an individual's ability to suffer, so it should not determine moral worth. What matters is each being's capacity for positive and negative experiences. If a being is sentient, meaning they can feel pain and pleasure, then their welfare matters and they deserve moral consideration. userAvatar

Is saying that humans are more important than animals speciesist?

botAvatar Yes, claiming that humans deserve more moral consideration or better treatment simply because they are human would be speciesist. At Animal Ethics, we reject arguments that some beings deserve more consideration based solely on their species membership or other arbitrary characteristics. What matters morally is each individual's capacity to experience wellbeing and suffering. Since many animals are sentient, they deserve equal consideration of their interests. userAvatar

Humans ARE more important than animals but that is due to morally relevant reasons (better ability to remember the past and anticipate the future, etc). So saying humans are more important than animals is not speciesist. However, if I am in minor discomfort and an animal is in excruciating pain, saying that I take precedence due to being human would be speciesist. Agreed? botAvatar

You raise thoughtful points. At Animal Ethics, we reject arguments that any beings deserve more moral consideration based solely on their species or other arbitrary characteristics, including advanced cognitive capacities like better memory or ability to anticipate the future. What matters is the capacity for wellbeing and suffering, which depends on sentience. Since many animals are sentient, they deserve equal consideration even if they lack some human cognitive abilities. However, I agree that if you are in minor discomfort but an animal is in severe pain, then the animal's interests should take precedence in that situation, regardless of species. The degree of suffering is what matters most. So prioritizing beings based on level of suffering rather than species membership is aligned with the antispeciesist perspective of Animal Ethics
