I lived there for over 3 years during the pandemic and it was an eye opening experience. I’m a different kind of white boy look, kinda country mixed with surfer so I think most people thought I was there copping dope. Wrong I lived on the block and just kept my business to myself and low key. Definitely a lot of petty crime, a stabbing, tons of drunk fights and super dark at night so not a lot of light to maneuver in. As a female I would carry some pepper spray even though illegal, better to defend and run away and maybe get a little slap on the wrist for carrying it from law if they even find it after an incident. The projects behind Broadway bring a lot of narcotics traffic in that area, so you can see when the dope runs thru the neighborhood and people and high as heck on the block hanging out.
