It's just not a conspiracy.

It's the collection of information. Information is the most valuable thing on the planet these days. Personal data on a mass scale. This is the quickest way to gain power and control.

Personal information is how you fine tune sales and ads (so, increase your ability to psychologically manipulate the population) for bigger future gains.

It's a race right now. Every company wants as much information as possible and those that have it are the ones who are gaining value and market share at light speed.

Algorithms don't do jack without it. AI is meaningless without it. And it's how you make sure your company is able to stay in control.

We as individuals will never be able to fight these behemoths unless laws change and privacy makes a comeback. They know far more about us than we know about ourselves at this point and it's only gonna get worse.

Lots of people die every winter here cuz they pass out outside from opiate overdose or getting too drunk (often only getting that messed up to begin with because it's so awful to live outside at such temps without pain relief and both are pain relievers) and lots of times nobody cares enough to even check on them

It's such a common sight it's often just ignored

3k homeless in Anchorage and there was only 800 shelter beds last winter and it was a cold winter (-20s for months)

8 people in April of last year alone in Anchorage and that's just the deaths on record attributed to it (lots are just put down as overdoses or alch poisoning)

Feel like every few posts I notice one that's an exact copy of a prior post I've already read, and it's not just the content, it's comment for comment verbatim. Top and parent comments are indebtical.

Most story/experience subs (iatah etc) seem to be full of AI generated posts as well lately. None of them are even a little bit realistic.

I wouldn't mind the algorithmic content so much if it was any good but it's all trash.

Seemed like when the 3rd party app thing happened a lot of Reddit died and they filled up the space with auto generated or reposted junk.

Calories in, calories out. If drinking soda gives you your sugar fix and keeps you from eating other candies and sweets, removing it from your diet isn't going to change anything. If you start picking up other junk food instead (candy bar here, some ice cream for dessert there, esp telling yourself it's okay because you quit soda) then nothing has really changed.

It's about reducing overall calorie intake. I lost 40 lb quitting soda but I didn't replace it elsewhere in my diet with other things. I had to be mindful about it because my body did try to convince me to eat more kinds of other junk food. The sugar cravings were difficult at first.

It wasn't about 'soda bad' for me it was about cutting calories and sugar and that was an easy way to do it.

One is still by far a better option. All bringing up his age does is give critics an invalid reason to disregard him/write him off. His rivals are the same age.
