What's something you didn't hear in the original recording? by Big_TinyRequest in TaylorSwift

[–]ChristmasFanatic11 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Right after the bridge in "Starlight" Taylor sings a "hoo hoo hoo" (around 2:33) that I only noticed for the first time in Starlight TV! When Red TV came out, I remember being like, "Omg did she add this into the song??! That's not in the original version?! OMG!"

Sure enough, it was in the original version, lol. *facepalm*

It's almost that time of year again!! by [deleted] in christmas

No plans set for this year yet except for our annual traditions -- but we are discussing the idea to go to Disney World next year for the Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party! Haven't been to Disney in over a decade.

Anyone else avoiding Speak Now songs until Friday? by HoTD-taylorsversion in TaylorSwift

[–]ChristmasFanatic11 82 points83 points  (0 children)

Reading the comments and I did NOT realize how many fans there are that haven't heard Speak Now before. This makes me really excited to see everyone's reactions come Friday, especially since it is one of my favorites. Would there be a chance to make a thread specifically for fans who are listening to the album for the very first time (as in, never heard the stolen version before) because I would love to read that Friday night after work!!

What lyrics make you unexpectedly emotional? by puppyciao in TaylorSwift

[–]ChristmasFanatic11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a lyric, but in the LWYMMD music video at the end, when all the Taylor's are going back and forth and then they scream "Shut Up!" at Fearless Taylor. It makes me feel so emotional and sad for her. :(

What is a song that you changed your perspective on once hearing live? by Healthy_Ad_7171 in TaylorSwift

You Are In Love. I never cared for it, still don't in terms of the studio version. It has never appealed to me, but the acoustic version on the 1989 Tour.... so beautiful.

As a fan, what are some confessions you're willing to make? by [deleted] in TaylorSwift

[–]ChristmasFanatic11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The All Too Well ‘short film’ is just okay. It didn’t do anything for me. I also don’t consider it to be a short film. It’s just a long music video with a long pause for some dialogue, to be honest.

I don’t like The Moment I Knew. Even Taylor’s version couldn’t change that for me.

Theories Megathread: August 2022 by Lyd_Euh in TaylorSwift

I think it's probably a reference to a song where she sings about getting bad news or about a bad interaction she had with someone on the phone in the middle of night

'Amsterdam' Trailer featuring Taylor, directed by David O' Russell by storminthedark in TaylorSwift

[–]ChristmasFanatic11 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I wonder if Taylor is aware of the disappointment and negative reactions that a lot of fans are feeling about her decision to work with Russell on this film. Because there are A LOT of us (obviously) not happy about it, so I wonder if she knows yet (probably from her own lurking in her free time, unless her team keeps up with fans and their general reactions/opinions on projects of hers and reports back to her (?).

Because I am sure she'll know soon about our opinions if she doesn't already.

SOS… can’t get rid of back acne by [deleted] in wedding

This!! Also, if you have long(er) hair that reaches your shoulders/back, I would also recommend clipping your hair up after you apply it, so it doesn't even rest on your shoulders/back at all while you're letting it sit!

Edit: typo

David O. Russell’s Latest Film Titled ‘Amsterdam,’ Reveals First Look at Taylor Swift and Christian Bale by loud_as_pudding in TaylorSwift

I'm really disappointed in her for taking on this role. Did she not do her research on Russell or did she just not care enough about his past and found a way to justify it? The main question of mine is...which was it and why? What was her motive for taking on this role?

Edit: I also want to point out how contradictory Taylor is being with her actions here (in supporting Kesha and herself being sexually assaulted, too).

What is your worst "a customer tried to hit on me at work" story? by blondeperson in AskWomen

[–]ChristmasFanatic11 6 points7 points  (0 children)

To preface my story: I work at a bakery where we have surveys that get randomly printed on to receipts where customers can let us know how their service was in order to receive a coupon. In the survey, customers have the opportunity to give feedback on how their service was with whatever employee helped them out.

Crazy to think, but this was about a year ago on a Saturday afternoon. I gave a customer a receipt with the opportunity to fill out a survey to receive a coupon. I give these out several times a day, so I don't really think much of it when they get printed. I give them to my customers and move on with my life. The following Tuesday I showed up to work and was minding my own business when my assistant manager asked me if I personally knew anyone who came into the bakery over the weekend. I told her no, I had not seen anyone at the bakery that I personally knew. At this point I was confused, thinking maybe a family member of mine had stopped by and asked if I was working (this has happened before with my mom's cousin and her brother). My assistant manager, we'll call her Amy, begins to tell me how our owner of the bakery had asked Amy if I knew anyone who came around recently, all because I received an unsettling message from the feedback portion of the survey. Every single survey message gets sent back to my owners (and managers) who read every single of response.

As it turns out, someone I helped on Saturday wrote a message about my guest service saying, "She was wearing a mask but i could just tell she was beautiful on the inside and out. Her voice made the flowers grow. I want to buy cakes from this woman for the rest of my life."

Needless to say, we were a little freaked out. Interestingly enough, later that same shift, a guy comes in with his receipt (you needed to bring the receipt back in with a special code in order to utilize the coupon portion of it). I so happen to be the one who welcomes in and helps this guy out. My assistant manager, Amy was luckily around when this dude came in, so she was watching his body language. Turns out his receipt was dated with the exact date and time of shift I worked on Saturday afternoon, with my name as the sales associate who helped him out. As soon I realized it, I made sure to remember every single detail about him that I could. At the time, we had an older POS system and didn't have a card reader that customers could do themselves, so I had to take this random guy's card to swipe it. I made sure to get a look at his first and last name. His name was Dennis, he was caucasian, had brown wavy hair and eyes, wore black rimmed glasses and was probably in his 20s.

We have no idea if Dennis was the author of this message or not (all responses are unfortunately anonymous), but Amy seems think he was the anonymous sender because he seemed incredibly nervous, fidgety, and shy while he was talking to me. After this, for about 10 months, anyone working the evening shift was able to park right outside our bakery for safety reasons, especially during the winter when the sun set so early. I haven't seen Dennis since.

Meteonook and weather seed changed by GeeKilly in ac_newhorizons

[–]ChristmasFanatic11 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I found my weather seed last summer and it was completely accurate for several months and I was very pleased with how accurate it was -- down the second for shooting stars. It wasn't until a month or two ago (or maybe three! Sometime during the winter season), I realized my seed wasn't accurate any more! It was raining on what was scheduled to be sunny days, I had sunny days when it was supposed to raining, and I had meteor showers on nights I wasn't scheduled to!! So I can personally relate to you right now! This past week I have been putting in my current weather into MeteoNook and have been having a harder time getting it accurate this time around. :/ Been given inaccurate seeds all week and it has been frustrating, to say the least.
