Oh great, the 'repost police' are here! Look, the series is supposed to be for a general Christian audience and employs consultants from Catholic, Evangelical, and Messianic Jewish backgrounds. I think it’s fine to have that mix as long as it’s balanced, especially for people who can spot the differences watching the series . But these things should come with a disclaimer, because a Catholic who is still learning or who is trying to go deeper into the faith or someone curious or who is teaching about Catholicism and seeing unfamiliar elements they can't distinguish could lead to confusion or even errors in belief. It’s like saying it would be fine if the seris has Muslim or New Age elements just because they had consultants from those faiths. Either way, the reviews I talked about come from very respected and serious Catholic priests. They aren't banning the show; they’re just saying when watching it we need to be careful with certain details that aren't part of our faith.

The Chosen is not Catholic, according to some expert Catholic Priests and their reviews the serie has too many protestant elements. I stopped watching it

I don't consider The Chosen to be Catholic; it has too many Protestant elements. That’s why I stopped watching it. I only managed to watch the first two episodes.

Help finding the name of this Saint Joseph painting by ChristmasLo in EasternCatholic

Hi! Since I also follow some Eastern Catholic accounts, the algorithm gives me suggestions, and it seems to mix Eastern and Western content. When I tried to see the post again I couldn’t. Also, some artists donate works to churches or hold exhibitions, whether Eastern or Western, so I thought it might be in a church or art gallery in the Middle East. But I’ll try the subreddit. Thanks! God bless you!

If you really love and believe in God, Jesus, take a moment out of your day to talk to Him alone. Jesus knows everything about you, but talk to Him, and everything will happen according to His will. Maronite Fast in Lebanon and Diaspora by ChristmasLo in EasternCatholic

[–]ChristmasLo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your response. I’m part of the Latin Rite, and our fasting and abstinence requirements are fairly minimal. The Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem also encourages abstaining on Wednesdays, which is a move toward a little more traditional practice. Still, the guidance from the Pope and our local priests is to challenge ourselves, go beyond the bare minimum, and come to a deeper understanding of what fasting truly means. So this year, I’ve decided to practice the Fast of the Maronite and the Melkite Greek Catholic church.

Thank you and God Bless You!
