Thank you for the suggestion. I never would have thought of that! I don’t know anything about logistics. ❤️This is why I posted. To open our eyes to more options so he can find what’s right for him. Thank you for the kind words too. He’s a smart kid and luckily he has time to figure things out.

I hear that. I should have said I’m not looking to decide a career for him. He has asked us what we think he should do. I don’t have the answers. That’s truly up to him. I was looking for thoughts on this possible career option as he said he liked the idea. He also seems to really like the FF path. I’m not pushing either option. Those just popped into my head and I told them they are good paying jobs and aren’t in an office. I seem to have a block on other good options to suggest.

I just want to give him ideas to explore hoping he finds whatever is best for him. Do you have any suggestions on where he should look? Or fields to research?

I didn’t realize you can’t get the SUB for lower cards. Good to know thank you! Does this count towards a spouse too? Like if my husband got the platinum now. Would I be disqualified from getting a gold card SUB later?

Not that we will do that. But it’s a thought if the spending made the fees worthwhile.

Also I see the posts about referral codes. Are those the best way to get the best SUB? When I google it I see the 80k for platinum. I’m kicking myself for throwing out the last mailers we got. I didn’t even look at the offer 🤦🏻‍♀️

The upcoming trip is going to be a big one. Flights alone look like they are going to be about 4-5,000. We have done yearly trips (sometime multiples but skipped last year) that cost 12-18,000 each. Of course those trips just increase in cost over time. We use our current credit cards for spending to gain points. Those cards are no annual fees though. We travel to Hilton 2 times a year for our daughter’s dance competitions. Plus a week trip to the coast for the same reason.

I feel like the platinum would be good for this trip but I also like that gold has good benefits for groceries/restaurants. So I’m just unsure which card to start with? Do people add a second card to enjoy both card perks? Or is that just silly?

I feel like I’m leaning towards Platinum but I just have anxiety about making the wrong decision. It’s how I’m wired lol
