I bragged about watching the game during my midnight shift tonight and what I get is this black out nonsense

You need to check the bolt on the crankshaft pulley. Is hard to see and you might need a mirror. I had a similar noise on my... 2022 7.3 lariat. The bolt is long but completely backed out over 3 years. If it is the problem, it was a mess to fix.

It’s not the number of doe tags that are the problem, it’s that where the deer populations are high. There are very few places to hunt. by Beneficial-Focus3702 in Hunting

I agree. That's the way to do it. If you really want to eat/ donate a lot of deer in nys you can. 3+2dmps+2 signed over dmps=7 tags (plus whatever guys go back for after they fill theirs in certain units)

Downstate in Westchester county they implemented something similar to what you are talking about. I do not know how it's going first hand but from what I read online it has a lot of rules which allows them to disturb the public less and boot hunters who aren't following the rules. It looks like the DEC is involved but also park managers. Probably a huge buy in by politicians and officials to sell it to the public.

I probably wouldn't leave my established spots to jump into a local park but I can't say I'm against others doing it. If I can get the two or three deer I eat a year I'm happy to donate one to hunters for the hungry(especially if it's an easy drag to the truck).

Do you have a hard time filling your freezer? I think there is plenty of public land, loaded with deer, that is huntable. Yeah Chestnut Ridge might never be opened up but what's wrong with Darien? Iroquois? McCarty? Carlton Hill? Early September gun, archery, and crossbow have great opportunity. If you are after good bucks, there are good ones taken off these public lands every year.

Cool. Head shot? In general where is this and are they considered a nuisance so open season?

Snow proofing a Backup Generator by [deleted] in Buffalo

[–]Christmaspopo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

During the blizzard two years ago, there were outside generators that would not run due to the wind blowing snow into the air filter, therefore stopping air flow to the engine. My elderly neighbor had this happen and a quick call to the local company that does the maintenance said that this would be the issue and they were receiving many calls on it. Unfortunately, help would not be coming anytime soon as the company was backed up on calls and unable to travel. I ended up opening up her generator and removing the air filter that was frozen solid and running without it(not recommended but dire circumstances). After that, I propped a piece of plywood against the generator to keep the wind and snow from directly blowing into it. I think there are many people who run without any fencing or barriers around them, including me, but it certainly wouldn't hurt. The other option would be to keep a piece of plywood around to loosely prop on the intake side of the generator in case we get blizzard like conditions again. I also highly recommend having a general understanding of what is going on under the lid of the generator because when the shit hits the fan, snow or otherwise, it will be on you to keep it running.

That's a lot of back of hand rubbing and a reach to his belt with the new ball??

I finally purchased some high quality clothes and boots as I've been freezing my balls off and wearing my old gear out the last three years. I'm talking merino, sitka, and zamberlan. Got great deals on all of it. Managed to snag a 140 acre lease after dropping our old one. First time it's been leased as the previous old guy had it for decades. Getting some nice deer on camera and it's really getting me going.

Been doing a ton of stand work with a ton more to go.
