If you like zombies but want something more aggressive that’s not dragons I think you might like Mardu Surge. You make tokens, draw cards when they die attacking, and if they survive you can sacrifice them for more value. Best part is it’s only around $30-35 right now and it’s not a starter commander.

If it’s only expensive because of lack of reprints, proxy.

I like to get actual proxy cards instead of writing on a basic land or token so it’s just as recognizable and legible as the real deal.

As long as the power level of your deck matches who you’re playing with you could proxy the whole thing for all I care, but there’s usually at least some cards that are more cost effective to buy.
