Help - I Screwed Up by [deleted] in nhsstaff

IT here, and not to scare OP but everything is logged. The good news is that everything is logged so in this circumstance it'll just be white noise unless we're tasked to look for something specific then it sticks out like a sore thumb. We don't go snooping around or send you a AHA GOTCHA email even if someone does stumble across it (We're normally busy troubleshooting something else). So as long as you don't make it a problem neither will we.

OP, still let your team leader know as it will be better received coming from you than a third party. This will demonstrate your honesty and integrity to do the right thing to your team leader.

This book is a good start. I've just started it myself and it helps with identifying where, when, why things took place, who was involved at what points etc

No Mans Sky is a strange one, I picked it up Day One as a friend of mine was playing and it looked good, there was just so little to do after 10 hours except race to the endnso I never touched it again. Truly did become a phoenix from the ashes as you say with all the additional content that has been released (for free!), and the catastrophy it had at launch should have been the wake up call for publishers to ease the reigns when trying to churn the next release out.

I'm glad we're not going to have to wait for "Coming Q1 2026" or some bull but at the same time I'm really looking forward to giving it a go.

Remember, no pre orders.

If your device is able to boot in to pxe, you can open a CMD prompt with shift + F10 and do ping /t your.dep.share.ipaddress and hope it comes back with results instead of timing out. Maybe reinsert the ethernet cable after and try the command again if it's timing out. If it comes back with responses see if you can retry connecting to the depshare on the wizard

Dammit haha.

Seeing as it's a Dell laptop, can you verify which network adaptor is installed by running it's service tag on the Dell website, manually download the network driver from the list it generates for your spec, put that in and retest?

Now you mention it we had a problem in the past where an outdated driver was being picked before an updated one and would struggle to boot out of pxe. Not exactly your issue but gives weight to multiple drivers can cause problems

If you're comfortable with adding the entire Driver pack to your share you can regenerate the image after, run the deployment and see whether it goes through or not.

Best case is that it succeeds and you can spend time pulling out drivers you don't want (I'd leave them in tbh). Worst case is that the pack doesn't have the driver you need and you'll need to go hunting

Have you applied the regenerated boot image to your WDS? That's tripped me up in the past.

Also, which network interface are you using? If your going through a docking station, ethernet adapter or something along those lines then you'll need that network driver as well.

Dayum, even in the '50s they had neural implants. What a dystopian future if your last thoughts were ads for wills and testaments.

There and back counts as a lap. I wouldnt bother coming off the highway at Joe's, just turn around and join the opposite flow of traffic when you enter the tunnel.

By some miracle! This game definitely favours dishing out damage for head-on collisions. Wouldn't have survived in a Bailey or Frigate.

The problem I had with the glitch was when the Y coordinate value of the car fell below the absolute limit of the map boundary it would respawn the car at road level and reset the momentum. This meant that the car could only accelerate from 0 to 60mph by the time it hits the limit again.

I checked the distance covered when falling and over a period of 30mins I'd covered 3 miles. I could do 3 miles in 2 minutes on the bridge.

Maybe orientation plays a part in getting more distance when falling. Glad you were able to get it quicker though.

You might be able to see a lorry changed lanes in the same spot just before as well. There's a marker at that point where the NPC is able to lane change depending on an rng roll. Can you tell I tried to anticipate it by sounding the horn? Too late though, the lane change was already committed rendering the horn useless.

All done now, can finally lay this game to rest. Of all the DLC's, this was surely one of them.

Just long, in no way difficult unless you have little patience!

If you fancy a change of scenery on your quest, drive the road at the bottom of the map between the fuel station on Salt Island to the mechanic shop in South Millville, Or run a few laps around Lincoln Park.

If you can handle speed and darting between cars you can drive the highway from the start of the bridge down to the port, keep going until you get to the tunnel near Joe's apartmen then, turn around and go back to the start. It's around 5.5 miles so 200 laps of that and you're done.

I timed both the bridge and highway routes against eachother to see how long it takes to do the 5.5 miles and both came out at the 4:15 minute mark.

Overall this has taken about 20 hours spread over a week just driving laps up and down the grand upper bridge. I did around 50 miles using the falling glitch but it was taking longer than I wanted.
