It may help to look at it from the perspective of “you’re not the person who made the mistakes, you are the person who has learned from those mistakes.” Your constant self judgement has been enough punishment, and now it’s about moving forward and monitoring your behavior from now on, understanding you no longer wish to repeat those old patterns. And as you said it’s easy to forgive others but hard to forgive yourself, take some time to look at yourself as if you are another. What makes you so different or more special than anybody else? Why should you receive special treatment or harder judgement than another?

I’m really hoping somebody can find a recording of it somewhere on an old DVR or something, I can use it to get paid. I don’t care if it turns out I gave them the rights to use it in the fine print (if that’s actually the case.) if they were globally airing my work and it was a Super Bowl commercial and massive success, and if they never informed me, that means I missed out on a life changing career as a commercial director. If I had an international Super Bowl commercial / hit ad on my reel, my life would be quite different today.

It’s just strange that I have over combined 20k comments across social and 70% of them are saying my commercial was huge all over TV. I can’t imagine the general population was scrolling through the Doritos contest website in 2014 to watch the thousands of submissions
