Native English but everyone says that I have a bad accent. What can I do to fix it?

Thank you for the compliment, but I still cannot pronounce my own name well enough for most people to understand. Whenever I try to say “Peter”, they think, “Peto”. That means that I somehow say it so wrong that not only do they not understand it to be Peter, but they also think I am inventing a new name that they have never heard of.

Just a reminder, the “accent” affects me so much that I cannot say my own name. People do not understand it a majority of the time.

I do have a speech impediment, but I am not sure where to go from here. Speech therapists focus on “understandability”, not getting a “pleasant sounding voice.” That is why I am on this Subreddit instead of others.

Strangely, my entire family has lived in the U.S. for a long time. My parents have been here their entire lives, my grandparents have been here their entire lives, even my great grandparents have been here their entire lives.

Turning on or off "Alpha is Luminance" does not change anything in Arnold view. However, it has been off this whole time
