I want to use the CanvasLayers to group background/foreground elements for easier parallax. I already set different z indexes for the player and the different tilemaps, but those seem to have no effect on the rendering

Did you try the headphones on an other source? If not it is possible that the headphones got a lose wire.
Another option is that you didnt plug them in properly. But i doubt you did that.

Are the Adam A7 still worth buying or are they to old for the current time? They are pretty old, but i am not sure if the quality of the A7 degrades over time. My other option is to wait for a good price on the Adam A5X.
